The restrictions placed on the setting of Thar Shaddin are different from the restrictions on the characters used in the setting. Our restrictions are simple and easy to understand. Click on the icons to read the conditions under which you can use our work, and remember that if you contact the authors (for characters) or the administrator (for the setting) that these conditions can be waived.
Setting
The setting of Thar Shaddin is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License.
The dark, pseudo-medieval, steampunk fantasy setting on which Thar Shaddin takes place is communally owned by all of us. You are free to use whatever parts of the setting you like, in any non-commercial way you like, and even modify it however you wish as long as you give credit somewhere in your work in plain English and in a clearly visible place on your work in the form of a URL to www.tharshaddin.com. Your derived work must also be distributed under a similar license (see the Creative Commons link above for details).
Characters
The characters used in Thar Shaddin are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 Unported License.
We restrict the modification of any of our characters or their actions because some (not all) of us do not want to see our characters misrepresented in any way. You can redistribute any content on Thar Shaddin in an unmodified form as long as you provide credit in the form of a reference to www.tharshaddin.com somewhere visible in your work. Your redistribution must also be distributed under a similar license (see the Creative Commons link above for details).
If you want to use a character in your own writing (and therefore modify his or her behavior) you must have permission (ask on the forums) from that character's author to do so.

Our forums are powered by phpBB which is a bulletin board solution released under the "General Public License" (hereinafter "GPL") and can be downloaded from www.phpbb.com. The phpBB software only facilitates internet based discussions, the phpBB Group are not responsible for what we allow and/or disallow as permissible content and/or conduct.

We claim no copyright over the images contained on this website and you are free to use them as you desire.
