Post by Fayane » Wed Mar 31, 2010 4:42 pm

Player Name: Amanda
Name: Fayane (Fay -Yawn – Eh) Tyme
Age: 19
Race: Shapeshifter (Kitsune)
Height(human): 5'6"
Height(Fox):
Standing: 5’7” (add the ears; half form)
On all fours: Her shoulder comes to about your stomach(half form)
Full Fox form: 1’6” (length)
On all fours: she reaches to be about mid calf on a normal sized human
Weight: 100 lbs

Physical Description: Fayane (Faya to her friends) is anything but normal. Her curiously natural silvery-blonde hair cascades down to her knees, a length she's often had criticized while training as it constantly gets in the way. As such she tends to keep it kept up in a something that resembles a very messy bun. Her fox features she doesn’t bring out at all from the habit of having to hide them from her Father, who hated her fox features, This never made sense to her as she believes that her Mother was the shape shifter, but keep this opinion to herself.

Fayane's build, however, makes up for the rest of it all. Slim and toned Fayane is built for speed and stealth, she’s all legs and arms but that makes her all the faster and have an even longer reach with her blades. Her fox half allows her to walk swiftly and silently, and to get into very small places if need be. Flexible and always ready for action Fayane is more so an assassin than she is a warrior. Now if we took away her cloak we'd be able to see her blue eyes, stubborn chin, soft lips and slightly tanned skin. Her hands are covered with black leather gloves to hide her longer-than-normal nails, and at her sides are the twin blades she inherited from her Father after he passed away. More than anything Fayane's appearance suggests a quiet, withdrawn girl, whose silence is usually mistaken for a cocky amusement rather than her own withdrawn sympathy.

Possessions: Her only possessions are the clothes on her back, her swords at her side and the small heart-shaped locket that her Mother had given her. She keeps them close at all times (indeed she refuses to remove the locket at any cost) and is very protective of them. It is a rare honor indeed to wield her blades if she allows you, it shows that she trusts you as much as she would trust her family if she had one. You see her blades and necklace are the only remains of her family that she has left, as they were extremely poor and had little to nothing.

Powers or Strengths:
Shadow Walker:
Fayane can hide in the shadows to remain unseeable by her enemies... well at least that’s the idea, she still hasn't even come close to mastering it yet as her pale hair and skin tend to shine out against the dark... yet she continues to try and master the ability.

Protective Heart:
Fayane is very protective of those she loves, or those she is assigned to protect, and as such she will go to any extreme to make sure that her charge/friend will not be harmed in any way... this usually tends to get her badly hurt, kidnapped or knocked out.

Foxy wit:
As a half-fox Fayane is very clever and witty, she can make hard decisions fast or can manipulate another person's thoughts through mind games. She generally doesn't do this, but uses it of she has to.

Other Half:
As a shape shifter Fayane can transform into her other half - a fox! Though she doesn't use this ability when on missions and doesn’t shift often as she's a very silvery-white fox. Though her build as a fox makes her a valuable spy - she can get into even the tightest of spaces. If she transforms half way she can run fast over great amounts of distances, and can be strong enough to be ridden... she just really doesn't like the idea of being used like a common animal, and anyone who does get the honor to hop on her back can be guaranteed a speedy and lengthy ride as Fayane runs fast over long distances, an ability she gained while carrying her father in human form to their next destination to save training time, or so he said.

Stealth
Faya is very silent both verbally and physically, she can easily walk up to a person without them even realizing she’s there until she gives away her presence or dead… in which case they don’t realize a thing... so long as they haven’t noticed her already.

Assassin’s Mind
Fayane has no problems killing, not just in a ‘oh well I killed someone’ sense, but in a ‘I can use this, cut this here and he’ll be dead in less then 1.5 seconds’ sense. Fayane can look at a person and know exactly how to kill them in the fastest and most painless (or painful if she doesn’t like them) way. She can also turn this off. Not the knowledge, but rather the steely unfeeling personality she obtains when she's on the hunt or in a very serious or stressful situation.

Blood Lust
Like her assassin's mind, Fay can turn on her Blood Lust. When this ability's "active" Fay cannot feel pain, fear, etc; and her strength is increased somewhat. Her inhibitions which would normally hold her back are no longer hinder her. As such her attacks are more deadly, she moves much faster and she is much more dangerous.

Weaknesses:

Oops…
Since Fayane grew up in the woods she’s definitely socially awkward, and as such she tends to say things in a more blunt or confused manner. She also tends to mess up sayings, says things people don’t understand and is generally misunderstood.

Fire
Fayane had a bad experience as a child with fire. More specifically her first house came down around her ears in flames. Ever since then she’s been terrified of fire. Mind you she’s learned to control it to some degree. She can stand candles, torches make her hands clammy and she can cook – very well in fact – but she’s terrified of it. Almost every time after she’s done cooking and goes to bed she has a nightmare about the worst possible outcome – catching on fire while cooking. As such Faya hates burning the bodies of those she kills – something you’re supposed to do as an assassin to hide any evidence from those who want to find her. She usually simply piles the body up on a pile of wood and throws a torch from a good distance and watch the body burn while sweating from the fear.

Sensitive senses
Fayane, as a half-fox, has an incredible sense of hearing and scent. As such she tends to get major headaches around loud noises and strong scents. The worst possible place for Faya to be at any point is by a bell tower as the tolling bells often have her on her knees, hands over her ears, tears streaming down her face from the pain. She can stand it from a distance of about 200 feet, but other any closer than that and she’s in serious pain. This can get in the way of her assassination ‘missions’ (usually a self-given test of killing the rare drunk that stumbles into the woods). If it’s major, however, she stuffs something in her ears – something she hates doing as she finds it an even bigger problem then the pain of her headaches.

Hesitant Killer
Fayane isn’t bothered by killing someone, she truly isn’t. Yet she still hesitates when going in for the kill, mostly because she doesn’t want to cause the family as much pain as she and her father did, and also she wonders at times whether or not the person actually deserves to die.

Scarred Heart
Fayane’s always wanted to have someone close to her heart, she’s always wanted to love someone and as such tries to be social… but when people get too close she becomes terrified of losing them and pushes them away, terrified that if they become too close they’ll see her for who she really is and take off running and screaming, thus breaking her already tortured heart.

Illiteracy
Fayane was never actually trained fully in the art of reading and writing. Certainly she knows the basics - her abc's and 123's however... give her a book or letter written by scholar and she'll be stuck trying to read it for months on end.

Blood Lust
Fay's blood lust is like her assassin's mind, however she cannot turn it 'off', it goes away or fades once all her targets are dead, or if she's dead or unconscious. Also while active Fay's energy is used up much faster. As such this ability often leaves her exhausted to the point where she is unable to move for a day or two. Also her injuries heal much slower than usual - like at a older human's rate than the usual shifter's speed.

Jerial
Fay met Jerial one fateful day and ever since then he's been her greatest weakness. Even though she knows he can defend himself, Fay goes so far out her way to protect her "mate" it's life-threatening at times. In or out of battle Jerial is always on her mind, and is, as Fayane's Father would put it: a distraction.

History:
Fayane grew up in the woods, and as such never really came in contact with anyone but animals. As such she never really learned how to talk to the human species. She was, however, raised and trained to be an assassin by her father. Her Mother had died by the hand of some unknown being and her father was hell-bent on revenge. As such he trained her to kill silently, and mercilessly. She understood this and did her best, but never met up to her Father’s expectations. He went as far to beat her to teach her how to control her pain, he shot at her to teach her agility, and constantly yelled at her to teach her to hide her emotions. As such Fayane has become very withdrawn and keeps to herself.

One night there was a raid and her Father caught an arrow to the chest. He died in her arms, making her promise to kill the person who killed her Mother, and apologized for being so cruel to her. “I only wanted the best for us...” were his last words and Fayane took them to heart. For two years afterwards she trained herself to become faster, and to become more efficient with her blades.

After two years of training she heard about the Guard and how they were recruiting. She packed up what little she had and burned her house to the ground while watching from a very good distance, having not wanted anyone to find the place. She now travels to Marn in hopes of becoming a guardsman... or guardswoman. Just why is a question that she is not 100% sure on. Sometimes she believes it’s because she wants to protect those who are weaker than her, others she thinks that she just wants to BE with someone – anyone… so long as she can keep them at an arms length. But more than anything she just wants to protect others. The only reason she’s become an assassin of sorts is because of her Father, who she’s resented from day one. As she puts it “You can only beat an animal so many times before they turn… I’m just glad I didn’t turn.”

Fayane doesn’t mind killing, to her it’s like a hunt, she just doesn’t eat the humans she kills… for her it’s like she’s killing the one who killed her Mother, even though she has no idea on whether or not she’s killed them, but for her, it’s enough. Not that she kills often… perhaps that’s why she can get over the kills easily enough? I mean, just how often is it that you get a stray drunkard that comes in that deep in the woods? Not very often… but often enough for Faya to feel like she’s doing the world a favor and keeping her promise to her father at the same time.

After joining the guard, Fay was assigned a task: bring in the woman who harbored an illegal magic user. The journey took her to Saruna Rischett, whom she ended up assisting in defending the woman's "daughter" of sorts, Derin. After throwing Melagone (the battlemage accompanying Fay in her little adventure) off the scent, Fay and Saruna made their way to the Justice Hall, where Saruna was shocked and insulted at the system. Taking Saruna home, Fay told the woman should she ever need her, she was but a messenger pigeon away.

It wasn't so long after that that Fay ran into Jerial Malkyas, a half-elf who she ended up accompanying to Shim, where she scented one of the bandits who killed her mother. Driven into a rage, Fay slaughtered the man and (accidentally) an innocent. What the bandit held, however, was what led Fay into a chase to just outside of Apthoni - a letter talking about a meeting.

Together with Jerial Fay tracked the bandits and slaughtered them all in a bloodlust, becoming severely injured, poisoned and ultimately, ill as a result. Jerial, along with Cerion and Kado (members of the Society of the Changed) took Fayane back to Shim, where she has been treated; though only for one purpose - a letter had been sent ahead, claiming that Saruna required assistance in a rising rebellion. With Fay's promise in mind, she returned, and now awaits her orders.

The time has come my friends, to sharpen our blades and wit, and to allow the ice of our fore-fathers to run through our veins. The time has come, my friends, for war.
