"I'm alright." Drayel assured her as he sat up , grimacing at he examined the dough from down on the floor. Nearby Jackal stared at his feet, clearly looking scolded. Noticing his boy Drayel sighed before waving him over and patting the ground beside him, showing he wasn't angry at him but wasn't pleased either. Jackal sat beside him obediently, holding the jug of oil still tight in his grasp. "Now, what are we going to do about this boy?"
"...Pretend it never happened?"
"and the dough?" Drayel asked calmly, his arms crossed as he shifted the amulet to his other hand. "What would you do with that? It's not going to stop growing."
"Why not?"
"Unless it's broken down into small bits and carried off or until a Battlemage takes care of it, it's not going to stop growing. It got bits of enchantment rubbed into it"
"....What about the sewers? The rats and stuff can eat it, right?"
"...I suppose so." Drayel glanced up at the dough and hummed. "If we move it now, and I give my partner the amulet then perhaps nobody will really know about this whole fiasco. Of course, if Mrs. Idris would keep quiet about it as well, that may help us signifigantly."
They both turned their eyes to peek up at the baker woman.
"Well Mrs Idris? Can you keep our secret?" They chorused with sugar sweet smiles up at her.

Re: Jackal and the dough monster
Talia wrinkled her nose at the thought of keeping something this big...this magical, under wraps. But of course if anyone found out about this Jackal would get in trouble, Drayel would probably look bad for having adopted such a boy. Chances are she would also get in trouble, if not with the law then with her bosses, the bakery certainly wouldn't do well if it got out that magic was used in the bread dough...even if it was only the one.
She sighed as she nodded. "Do what you have to. I won't say a word, just promise me that this won't lead back to me and the bakery? This isn't just my job after all, it's my home too." She shook her head at their smiles, why was it whenever she let one of them into the place something went wrong?
"You know, I really have to make a rule that none of you are allowed in my kitchen anymore." She smirked at them as she voiced her thoughts. "Only meeting in public places where my stuff can't get hurt and there are plenty of witnesses to keep you boys out of trouble."

Re: Jackal and the dough monster
"Alright, we'll do that." Drayel agreed, bowing his head in thanks as he promptly knocked Jackal's head with his fist. "You too boy, apologize and say thanks!"
"Thanks Tal. I won't let you down." Jackal said bowing his head as well.
"Alright, now lets get this dough out of here then. I'd hate to see Mrs Tal-Idris to get in more trouble then she is because of us." Drayel grunted forcing himself to his feet with a grunt, putting the amulet in his pocket and eyeing the dough like it was a monster. "Perhaps some paper and oil, we can sneak it away to the sewers. Then we hand the amulet to our bait and head home. Of course, we'll stop by here to buy bread before home."
"Yeah!" Jackal whooped as he jumped to his feet and scrambled to his Father's side. "I like her bread!"
"I know you do." Drayel grunted with an almost mused expression. "That's why we buy it, remember?"
"Well, I thought it was so you could flirt with Ta-"
"GET PAPER BOY!" Drayel roared as his ears turned flaming red. Jackal yelped as he scrambled to obey. Drayel huffed as he glanced sheepishly at Talia. "Apologies. We'll get out of here soon."

Re: Jackal and the dough monster
Talia nodded approval of Drayel's plans, grinning at the quick change from the shamed boy into such an excited one. When Drayel interrupted Jackal she glanced suspisciously between them before rolling her eyes.
"Oh come now. Might as well call me Talia. You both have been around here often enough, and made enough of a mess, that I feel that calling me by my first name would be appropriate. And then perhaps you won't continue call me Mrs. when I really am a Miss. Unless I got married and you know about it and I don't." Talia chuckled before sighing a bit as she turned to look at the stuff that she had been stuck in. "I certainly will enjoy having this bread dough out of here. It's not really even suitable to call dough, its more of a goo now." It was still attempting to grow and even looked a bit porous but she refrained from the temptation to poke it and see if it felt the same too.
"I will make sure I have you gentlemen a nice bread loaf for when you are done. But if you go to the sewers, please make sure you wash up before coming back. We can't have you scaring off anyone as well!" Talia smiled at them as they headed towards the door.

Re: Jackal and the dough monster
Dumping the dough took a lot less effort than either had originally feared, easing calmly past pedestrians with the same neutral poker faces they normally wore as they walked casually to the nearest sewer entrance. There, it was unguarded and Drayel took it in while telling Jack to keep guard.
While Drayel was gone, Jackal thought back on his past and couldn't help but wonder about Drayel. At first glance Drayel looked more like a thug then thugs themselves but despite his gruff tone and shabby appearance, he was probably one of the kindest people he'd known. He had problems with his temper though, and he got real worked up over stupid things but Jackal could look past those faults.
After all, what were sons for?
Drayel appeared with a grimace, his body tight as his nose wrinkled up in clear disgust. Jackal snorted in amusement causing a glare to come his way. He simply glanced away and smiled, giggling when he felt a heavy hand flop heavily on his hair and tussle. "Come on boy."
"We headin' to the bakery?"
"Mhm."
"Sure you can make it that far, old man?"
A heavy thwack was his answer. Laughing as he clutched his aching head, Jackal grinned through watery eyes. Sure, Drayel was a pain in the ass sometimes but so far for a Father, he was doing pretty good.
