Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
Talia had always liked it when her 'adoptive mother' had done her hair for her. There was something soothing about having someone running their finger through her hair. Her eyes were almost completely shut before she suddenly opened them. How did he know how to do hair up? Knowing the attitude about rich stuck up women is one thing, but being able to do up hair and judge makeup to such a degree? Talia really didn't know where he stood on the sexuality bar....maybe he was one of those who didn't really care. Instead of voicing her rapidly running away thoughts she simply stated, "You sure seem to know a lot about women." She nodded her approval as she looked in the mirror. She much rather would have liked her hair in a simple hanging braid or just down in general but if she had to have it up this wasn't that bad. If anything she could take it out later once they had made sure they had made an effective escape.
"You know nothing about me." Talia said haughtily. "I may dress like a lowly baker, and even act like one. But my blood contains that of aristocracy." She tone switched to her normal one before continuing. "If the stories are to be believed, my mother and grandparents where upper class citizens. And just because I bake doesn't mean I can't act!" she snapped.
Although as she watched Drayel bow in mock submission and spoke to her in such a voice she had to resist the urge to cover her face with her hands in a mixture of embarrassment and laughter at the sight of this big, normally grumpy guard, acting in such a manner.
Taking a big breath to calm herself be for she spoke, she then pursed her lips and squinted her eyes at him in mock study. In a bored voice she responded to him. "I guess you will do. Fine," she said straightening up and rolling her shoulders back while brushing a bit of fake dust of her shoulder. "Get ready. Girls!" Instantly the women who had formerly been attempting to harass Drayel poured in. They must have been standing outside the room listening to everything because the caramel girl who Talia had felt had been practically drooling over him earlier, started giving the other girls orders. "Alright girls! Time to get Sir Drayel really dressed up." She winked at them and they all giggled. Talia herself had to grin at Drayel, if he was going to be so bossy and embarrass her, while she would make sure to get some of her own back.

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
Drayel sat at a kneel, motionless but alert as the girls squealed and danced around him. He wasn't quite sure what he was suppose to do, so he sat still. That is, until the damn razor came out. Tensing at the sight of a blade, Drayel bared his teeth a little. He didn't like blades anywhere near his neck, face, or other fleshy bits. Yet, these women were saved by him and they cared for him like... well, not a brother that's for sure. He sighed.
"Why I trust you women is beyond me." Drayel grumbled as he turned to look at something else. Anything but those blade. "Be quick about it please. I... I'd rather not have a sharp thing near my vital parts longer than nessicary."
Drayel was really going on a limb here. He grit his teeth and focused his eyes on a picture on the wall. The caramel girl smiled warmly at him before leaning in close and gently smearing a sweet smelling lather across his cheek. A couple pairs of hands slipped their fingers into his hair, more still greasing their palms and massaging more scented oil into his skin. His hands were cleaned, his chin shaved. Around his eyes they have a bit of heavy green, allowing his eyes to stand out more yet it remained subtle enough that unless you looked you shouldn't notice. The scar on his cheek was effectively covered, the scars on this body covered too. The only thing remaining that was him was the tattoo on his shoulder. His hair was slicked back and stubble chased back into a chip under his lip.
"Finished!" The caramel squealed jumping back to peer at their job. The other girls murmured in agreement. He grumbled his shames. "Aw, come on Draysie! We did our best! Nobody would even think it was you, honest!"
"That helps none with my pride." Drayel grouched before letting out a sigh and looking up at Amara with a forced grin. "Alright, be honest. How bad is it? Cause I damn well smell like a perfume shop and I think I have enough oil on me to smooth out a tree trunk."

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
Talia watched, amused at the flurry or women dancing around Drayel. She wondered what he could have possibly have saved them from that would have garnered such loyalty and admiration from these women.
"You trust us because you have no other choice. You are at our mercy so you just choose to pretend its all going to be alright instead of dreading the consequences." She smirked.
She continued watching as the girls worked around her. It really amazing what make up could do. It was too long until Drayel had practically been transformed from shaggy guardsman into....well a rather dashing man. Looking like that any girl would most likely be wanting a piece of him. Even Talia was considering....she shook the the thoughts from her head. Uh....no. she thought. I am not going there, I am stuck to this guy and we are trying to find out how to get unstuck. That is all. When we do get unstuck we will go our separate ways and probably never see each other again and she felt fine with that thought.
"Gosh you are no fun" another voice seemed to pop up in her head. "Here you have a lovely chunk of man candy and what do you do? Nothing"
Exactly, nothing is the best course of action. I'd rather not do something stupid that will make this awkward event even more so. She rolled her eyes at herself. Now shush....I need to try and figure out how I'm going to help get us out of this mess. and with that she shook the crazy thoughts from her head and looked up at Drayel with a grin. He had just finished his makeover and was looking expectantly, if not a little scared, up at her.
"Its horrible." She tried to say with a straight face before breaking out into laughter. She couldn't help it! "I love the eye makeup - it really makes your eyes just pop." She said between giggles. "Are you sure you are really under there? I wouldn't be surprised if you had simply swapped bodies with someone." She grinned before becoming serious again "Okay I'm done. Really you do look good. You smell nice too so stop gripping. Oh and no grumpy looks, no evil eyes, glaring or otherwise. And do try to smile nicely. You are an entertainer, your wish is but to serve me, not an undertaker being forced to go see yet another dead body. Shall we go?" She ushered towards the door.
Drayel stood up and they made their way to the front entrance. If they were going to pull off their stunt they couldn't simply sneak out, even though the girls had offered to let them leave by a secret entrance that occasionally people would use when they didn't want others to know where they were going. Drayel had pointed out that there were probably one or two guards who used that door and it certainly would be covered.
Saying their goodbye Talia had to endure another round of the girls cooing around Drayel, with the occasional hand straying to apparently unwanted places. Mother Musho gave them another huge hug, that Talia tried to escape from rather unsuccessfully. With a chorus of goodbyes and invitations to come back soon Talia and Drayel left the house.
Subtlety looking around it didn't appear that there was anyone watching the building. Of course Talia knew she didn't have the skills that Drayel possessed and there could be someone behind her and she would never know. Oh well, even if there isn't anyone watching, might as well put on a good show, just in case. She thought as she straightened up and lifted her chin in the air and with a half-bored, half-annoyed look she began walking down the street, Drayel walking a couple silent steps behind her.
They managed to get a block and a half away before Talia heard a voice behind them. "Excuse me ma'am....." He began before Talia interrrupted him with an exaggerated sigh. "What is it now." she stated instead of asking, trying to look perturbed at being imposed on by the guard for the second time today.
"I'm sorry to have to stop you. But we are looking for two people..." He stammered, it was the same guard who had interrupted their bath earlier. "They....umm...they might be in danger. And well, ma'am you two look very similar to them." Talia laughed inwardly as she noticed that the young man tried to avoid looking at Drayel.
"First off. NEVER, call me ma'am again. I am much too young for that." she stuck her nose up at him before continuing. "Funny isn't it?" She mused out loud. "First you interrupt my private bath, where you see me naked, and now you suddenly show up again as I'm on my way home." she said dryly. "One would think you were stalking me. I may have to inform your superiors about this." She continued to talk to him as if he wasn't there. "Its such a shame really, young men these days seem to have no respect for young ladies theses day. Oh well. I will rectify this issue immediately." She turned around and started marching away.
"Excuse me ma'am, I mean miss!" He called after her. "Honestly, it is not my fault! I am just doing as I was told, my superiors will know that. Really, we are looking for a young girl who is with an older male. The man is part of our squad and we are just concerned for them. And usually young ladies, like yourself, don't end up bringing men home from the whorehouse....pardon my choice of words."
Talia restrained from looking at Drayel although she would have loved to see how he was reacting to all this. But she continued to act like he wasn't really there, after all he was just another little trinket that she had picked up for her own amusement. "Oh stop your whining," she snapped back at him, "You practically traumatized me in the bathroom and I couldn't enjoy the rest of my stay with my aunt. So she offered to send a little trinket home with me to try to calm me down." She said with a wave in Drayel's general direction. "So if you are QUITE done with you harassment I would like to continue now." Without even waiting for his answer Talia turned around and strutted away, nose in the air and a disapproving look on her face.

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
Drayel remained silent as he walked beside her, forcing himself to appear relaxed as he looked through half open eyes. Hearing the guard however Drayel paused obediently, careful to glance only partially over his shoulder to peer at the stuttering mess. His kept his face rather neutral, save the little smirk he sent the guard when he dared glance at him. That outta make him pause a bit.
Being lead away but the snobby woman he kept in pace and in silence. Walking in quick step he loosed a low purr, winking slowly at a pair of blushing women. They blushed harder. Drayel chuckled lowly in amusement. He could get used to this.
Drayel hummed lowly as he glanced down at her from behind her. She walked two steps ahead of him, always. A master before the servant, not beside or in front. He kept his strides shorter than usual, scuffing with his boots a little in an attempt to keep from stomping like his normal gait.
"Halt!" Another guard, female. Drayel felt his face start to scowl but he stopped it. In fact, he turned into a flirty smirk as he leaned in close to Talia's shoulder and remained there, obediently looking like decoration as he peered up from beneath thick lashes at the male. "Have you seen- Oh.... Pardon me."
Drayel continued to smolder smirk up at her, blinking slow as he stared into her eyes. She blushed heavily, gaping at him and he just smirked wider. They held like this for a moment before Drayel chuckled lowly, his voice rumbling and deep.
"Madam guard... didn't you, have something to say...?"
The guardswoman jerked, her eyes wide as she turned and gaped at the two of them. She pulled out a stuttering jumble of words before shaking her head and hiding her cheeks with her palms. Embarrassing, isn't it? He chuckled lowly as he retreated a bit behind his 'master'.

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
Talia grinned as the female guard all but ran away. Putting a haughty look on her face she turned around to Drayel. "Tsk tsk," she playfully scolded "Talking out of turn and scaring off a guard. And women no less. Naughty, naughty." Personally she was kind of glad that she wasn't the only woman who seemed to find Drayel all dressed up like this, a little flustering.
Several blocks later Talia pulled Drayel into a dark alley. "Okay, do you think we are all clear now?" she looked up at him, try to avoid looking anywhere other then his face. "And can we get some clothes on you? I see how you are starting to smirk and flirt with all the ladies. Really, one would think that you never had a woman blush at you before, you are going to get a big head if you keep up like this....or get a reputation for being some sort of playboy." she rolled her eyes at him. She wasn't jealous that the other girls were looking at him, she was more embarassed to be playing the part of someone taking an 'entertainer' home with her. As if she couldn't get a man on her own! True it had been a while since she really had tried.....but that wasn't the point!
Turning her thoughts back to their current predicament she looked back to Drayel. "If you have a shirt you don't mind cutting open the side, I can sew it on you. It won't be the best job but at least you'll be decent. Lets at least wash that make-up off your face...your eyeliner is starting to run." Using her thumb, she reached up and attempted to wipe some of it off. "Where to next Draysie?" She asked mocking the beauty from back at the house.

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
"I'll go shirtless I suppose." Drayel sighed with a roll of his eyes. "Though, the makeup I deffinately want off. I think I got some in my eye."
Drayel winced as he tried blinking back a burn that grew in his eyeballs. Seeing her finger going near his eye however he flinched back, habit making him snarl in threat. Realizing however what he'd done almost immediately he dropped his shoulders and looked away guiltily.
"Let...Let's go get this stuff off." Drayel said slowly as he turned and pulled her gently towards a nearby well. "The hair and what not won't just go back though. We'll have to live with it. As for the shirt, if it makes you flustered I can put on a vest with shoulder ties on. Then you wouldn't need to sew."

"I'm not flustered." Talia said as she tried to keep herself from blushing yet again. "I'm just thinking that if we have to be walking around for a while still then you might want to look a little decent." She rolled her eyes at him again. She seemed to be doing a lot of that today....as well as blushing, smirking and just being embarrassed and teasing in general. Today was not an average day for her, that point was being made quite clear with each passing second.
As she waited for Drayel to finish washing his face, she waited and played with the little tendrils of hair that he had left out when doing it up for her. She felt her stomach rumble and looking into the sky she noticed that it was getting late. "How about we go find someplace to eat supper?" she suggested as Drayel looked over, hopefully not because he heard her stomach. "Then we can figure out out next move. Honestly I feel like we've been doing more running away then trying to find out how to undo this curse. One would think you weren't in a rush to separate." She coyly cocked her head and gave him an innocent yet questioning look. She tried not to grin, he deserved to be teased after almost biting her finger when she was just trying to help keep his makeup out of his eyes.

"Hmm, that idea may not be half bad." Drayel agreed as he rubbed his wet face on his arm before blowing out water droplets from his lips. He straightened out with a low groan, peering at her thoughtfully as he pretended not to hear her rumbling belly. "Food then.... I don't have any money on me and I doubt you have any either."
Drayel frowned as he rubbed his chin, thinking hard on anything he could yet still came up with nothing. Letting out a low sigh he gave her a shamed chuckle.
"Let's wander the higher part of town and see if there's a store that I could pay off tomorrow, aye?"

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
Talia nodded in agreement, she had money back home that she could go get, and she bet Drayel had money at his lodging too but she sincerely doubted that either one of them wanted to go back home...especially with Drayel dressed as he was.
"I hope I don't offend you but I'm letting my hair down." She stated after they had walked yet another several blocks. "I don't have to act all uppity for now and all this hair piled on my head give me a headache." She tried not to whine as she pulled apart whatever Drayel had done with her hair and tucked the flower behind her ear like it was originally. Maybe I should look into getting my hair cut. She debated to herself.
They continued to walk in silence until music caught her ears and she lifted her head up. "Do you hear that?" She asked Drayel as she looked looked around for the source of the sound. "What do you want to bet that there is a party of some sort going on?" She grinned as an idea crossed her mind. "Wanna see if we can join in? Perhaps they will have some food and beverage. If anything it will be a way to amuse ourselves for the rest of the evening." Normally she wouldn't considering interrupting a party without being invited but today, well today was an exception for pretty much everything.

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
"You... wish to disturb somebody's party?" Drayel frowned though his eyebrow twitched in amusement. "Well, why don't we see what kind of part it is? I don't wish to ruin a child's birthday for example."
With that he gave her a wink before pulling her in the way towards the noises. It wasn't hard to find it, and when they did he wasn't quite sure what to do. He hesitantly glanced at the woman at his side and cleared his throat as he saw a rather shirtless man walking around with a low necked dressed woman. He frowned at her for a moment before chuckling.
"Well, I suppose we'd fit in." Drayel mused watching the pair snuggle off to a nearby table. "Though, are you sure you want to slip into a wedding party?"

"Well, I suppose we'd fit in." Drayel mused watching the pair snuggle off to a nearby table. "Though, are you sure you want to slip into a wedding party?"

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
Talia observed the crowd before responding to Drayel. "Well normally I would say no....but honestly today had been an unusual sort of day so why not continue on in that trend? Not to mention I don't think anyone will really notice at this point." She said nodding towards a group of people who were obviously more then just a little drunk.
Casually slipping in they made their way around the garden, tables and dance floor. Eventually finding the dinner buffet they were able to grab plates without anyone questioning their presence there. A couple people even tried to act like they knew them, although Talia could tell by their puzzled faces as they left that they were really trying hard to figure out who Talia and Drayel were and how they were connected to the wedding party.
Thankfully there were people walking around with drinks because Talia wasn't sure how they were going to balance two plates and two glasses with only one available hand each. The first couple minutes they didn't say anything to each other as they happily ate their food. Talia eventually looked up and grinned at Drayel. "Not to bad is it? Of course I'm expecting you, my dear guard," she with a hint of sarcasm and flourished her fork at him, "to take me dancing since you got me into this whole mess with the unbreakable hands."

"I wouldn't suggest it." Drayel said gravely. "I'm not much of a dancer though if you wish to lose your toes I suppose I have no reason to argue."
He popped a piece of bread in his mouth and nodded pleasantly at a passing couple. They nodded back though he noticed the confused expression as they wandered away. He chuckled lowly before taking another bite only this time it was of cheese. He hummed in content as he gently nudged her with his shoulder.
"Perhaps we should say hello to the bride and the groom?" Drayel whispered nodding towards the giggling duo who were currently smooching a damned smooch hurricane half hidden in the corner. "It would be polite."

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
"Oh come on! You can't be that bad, I'm sure I could avoid your stomping feet." She grinned as she finished her drink. At Drayel's comment Talia looked over at the newly weds uncertainly. "I don't know....they look pretty cozy there. By the looks of things they will be leaving pretty soon anyways." She shook her head at the sight. The bride was practically in the man's lap, a little too much action going on there if you asked her.
A group of giggling girls stopped in front of them, and a couple of them pushed a pretty young thing dressed up in pink, her face pretty much the same colour. "Go on, ask him!" she could hear the other girls whispered prods.
"Hi...." the pink one shyly started. "Umm...I was wondering if maybe, well would you like to dance with us, I mean me." she finally blurted out and turning deeper shade of pink to the giggles of her friends. "I'm sure your sister wouldn't mind, there are quite a few men that could keep her company." She attempted to smiled sweetly at Talia who just rolled her eyes in response.

"Ah." Drayel paused as he glanced at Amara and cleared his throat. "She's not my sister I'm afraid."
The blushing woman gasped and blushed harder, now looking more flustered then before and twice as stammering. Feeling guilty, Drayel offered her his free arm and gave her a crooked apologetic smile. She paused in her ramblings to stare at him in disbelief.
"Don't worry, I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind dancing with you as well." Drayel assured her with a chuckle. "One woman on each side, each a suitable dance partner hm?"
He gave her a hearty smile and the woman glanced unsure at Talia. Then, hesitantly she took his other hand and placed her hands on his chest. Drayel sighed a bit before tugging and giving Talia a spin so she matched the other woman's pose.
"Shall we go dance then?"

Re: Why Drayel hates Merchants
Talia looked up in surprise when Drayel denied them being siblings. Personally she thought it would be a good coverup, instead Drayel had called her his wife! She almost choked on her drink to prevent herself from spitting it out all over Dray. Of course when she thought about it, it was true. They had the rings, they basically had a ceremony, and...well that was it.
Talia rolled her eyes, she had no idea where it was coming from but in the past few hours Drayel had turned from grumpy guardsman to some suave flirt. Oh well, at least she was getting a dance in, even if she had to share her dance partner.
A couple dances later Talia was biting her lower lip to keep from giggling. She really didn't want to turn into one of those spinning, giggline little biddies that she found so annoying but after those last drinks, she didn't know. One of them must have had an extra kick in it, or maybe her alcohol tolerance wasn't as good as she thought it was. She tossed her hair back over her shoulder. "See Dray?" She said with a grin, "I told you that dancing wouldn't be so bad." As she finished her sentence a loud crash came from behind them. "What do you think that is?" she asked her two dance partners as she tried to peer over Drayel's shoulder.
