In the short time it had taken Shade to catch on, the hooded delusion had nearly walked up to the ragtag group’s location. When Shade threw the rock, the figure easily dodged the projectile, but Kitan slouched with relief all the same. The message was clear that the strange figure was not real, especially once Shade directly informed him.

Now relaxed, Kitan began to scan his brain for what he could recall of the conversation. They were going to go somewhere else, which made sense. The alleyway wasn’t very comfortable. The delusive figure lurched over to Kitan and sat cross-legged upon the earth beside him. Its silence was eerie, and its movements confounding. Kitan took a few seconds to stare at it in confusion before remembering her was supposed to be disguising that he was seeing things. He tore his interest from the delusion and refocused yet again.

“Right, we should leave from here.” As if in agreement, the strange robed figure stood and began to head for the alleyway’s entrance. It hesitated at the end and placed an intangible hand on the corner of the building, looking back. Kitan nervously fidgeted before continuing. “Shade, where do you think we should...” He trailed off as the delusion began to walk back towards him, “...go next?” He finished weakly, somewhat fearful. It was an intelligent delusion, that much was apparent. He had not yet met many in its category which proved to be non-malevolent.

Shade felt more then a little frustrated as the boy paled farther, his face frowning on its own accord as he tried to figure out just what to do now. He already used the damn 'oh shit a bee' excuse, now what? He wasn't used to having to save a hallucinating boy while trying to hide the fact he was having a freak out over nothing in particular. He resisted the urge to groan. Damn kid.

So, he did that thing he rarely did unless pressed into an absolute dire situation. He let out a very womanly shriek and clocked the poor bloke all the while doing a quick jig on the spot. Then he paused after the sudden hit, watching in fake mortification as the boy started to fall unconscious towards the heavy grounds. 'Scrambling' he grabbed hold of the boy as he gasped in horror.

"THE BEE MADE ME DO IT!" He wailed dramatically as he clutched to the boy. "Oh, what woes! My poor student! Quickly she-wolf! We must fall back to my lair where my she-alpha will take care of him!"

With that he heaved the boy into his arms, carrying him as he would a woman before charging out of the alley half naked and an over exagerated look of determination burning across his face.

"FROM THE BEES!"

Despite there being nothing, the fox was still in a panic. Gia could smell fear-scent spike on him again, coloring the air with its sickly yellow tinge. She had no idea what was making him so scared, but clearly the big wolf had some idea and bonked him a good one on the head while screaming like a human female at the sight of a spider. Gia blinked in surprise, taken aback. She was all for calming the fox down, but whacking him on the head seemed a little extreme. Then again, if he was afraid of things that weren't there, maybe a little extreme was needed.

She bit back a laugh as Shade turned dramatic. He sounded like an actor out of one of those badly-acted street plays she had seen in some human cities, and she couldn't recall ever hearing the word 'woes' outside of a play either. Then he called her she-wolf, which was just doubly amusing, especially when the fox had been so curious about names earlier. She was suddenly very interested in this 'she-alpha' of his. Was she the one that collared him? That was no way for a shifter to treat another, so Gia was hazarding a guess that this woman wasn't her kind.

"Of course, the bees." Gia stood and slipped off his shirt. "I'll carry this for you, shall I? Since you're adamant about running around without clothes on," She added as he raced out of the alley. She sighed and slipped back into wolf form, picking up the shirt in her mouth and racing after him. A half-naked werewolf charging about would certainly garner less attention than a really big dog running around the city.

After running nearly the entire way through alley's and street a like, he came to a stop only when he reached the doorstep of his homestead. He heard the she-wolf panting behind him though she didn't sound tired. Just muffled. Curious he glanced back to see his shirt in her mouth. He paused.

"You may wish to change human." He advised dryly. "It is considered rude if a shifter walks into this house without being a human. Like not saying hello apparently. Also, threaten my pack and I will not falter in killing you."

He turned his eyes away to look at the door thoughtfully. Then he shuffled the boy so he was slumped over his shoulder, freeing one hand to open the door with. Clearing his throat he took a chance to glance back and be sure she was made appropriate for, then opened the door with a loud humming noise to announce his appearance. The humming stopped the second he realized there was a comrade within the walls. A MALE comrade.

Eyes narrowed he cleared his throat and gave the newly paled man a tight smile.

"Get out of my damn house you ugly fat ass." Shade snarled though the polite smile never left his face. Turning to the clearly unsurprised and extremely displeased woman who sat across from the man, his tune sweetened considerably into a happy chirping. "Lucy, my dearest! I've come home with some companions. I was hoping you could take care of them while I ran back to grab some clothes for my woman friend here?"

"Jerral, meet Shade our house guard. Shade this is Jerial, our neighbor." She gave Shade a tight glare. "He helped us out last week with repairs seeing how somebody decided to gallivant with the women."

"I don't like him. Get out." Shade baring his teeth. The menacing aura spewed from his pores as he glowered with disgust at the other. "I know damn well you sneak around here when it isn't your business. I have no use for you."

Nodding the man vanished out the door before he could snarl another threat. Pleased he turned to speak with Lucy only to get a stink eye and hands on her hips. Immediately his mood dropped into a scolded pout. He made the lady of the house mad again...

"You have no say in whom I bring to this house!" The woman fumed as she pushed her brown hair behind her ear and glowered at the man. He snorted back, shifting the boy in his arms as he gave her a sharp look over. Worn dress still intact to her skin with no signs of crumpling while her hair was pulled out of it's usual bun. On the floor in the corner sat his dearest friend, little Rebecca. Seeing her he felt his mood soften as he let out a sigh.

"My apologies Lucy. I hoped I could get you're assistance with the boy and young lady behind me. We've had a bit of a rough go and she needs some temporary clothes to wear whilst I go back for hers." Shade bowed his head while glancing almost apologetically at Lucy. She blinked at the mention of the others and blushed, her nose wrinkling slightly as she came to his side to peer at the unconcious boy. "I... I saw a bee that landed on him."

I knocked him out but I can't say why. Lucy nodded at she understood the hidden message before glancing at the lady and letting out a loud gasp.

"Shade! What is the meaning of this? Why does she only wear your shirt?!"

"I... We ran from the guards and we were forced to leave her clothes behind." Shade admitted embarrassed.

Lucy stared at him for a moment before drawing her hand back and slapping him hard across the face. Yelping he staggered back a step as she stared at him with burning eye fury. "How dare you leave a woman in that state and what of the boy?! You idiot! Go! Put him on the bed where I'll tend to him then get that poor woman's clothes back! For the shame of you! How dare you come back after you did such a deed! I'll give you a good thrashing when you come back, I swear it but for now go and fix your mess!"

Shade didn't need to be told twice, following her orders to the T and running out the door as quick as possible.

Damn, female Alpha's were SCARY!

A suggestion and a threat all in one? That was more what she was used to. Gia shifted smoothly again, slipping back into the big male's shirt in seconds. Then she watched, slightly entertained and slightly confused, as Shade threw out the houseguest and the woman inside took exception to it. They didn't smell like they were bonded, and the way Shade treated her was not the way she would treat someone if they'd collared her... so then, if he claimed to be the 'house guard,' as this Lucy had introduced him as, who did put the collar on him? Maybe someone who had a desire to keep this woman and - Gia sniffed lightly - her small child safe? She hadn't thought the Marn government cared that much, though she supposed they cared enough about the human citizens.

She stifled a giggle as she watched Shade being scolded, and then couldn't help but laugh as he seemed to not fully understand why he was being yelled at. If this woman really was the alpha as he claimed, and he'd snapped and snarled at one of her guests and friends, of course he was in trouble. She was starting to think that this wolf had never had a pack, had never really understood how it worked.

She burst into outright guffaws, quite the unladylike noise and probably louder than anything she had uttered in their brief acquaintance, when Lucy slapped Shade for leaving Gia without proper clothing. Once he had scampered away, tail practically between his legs, Gia calmed herself. Something about this woman she liked. Maybe it was the fact that she terrified Shade. "Please, my lady, that's truly not his fault. I left my bag at the warehouse and we had to leave before I could pick it up again. I would have come in a more decent state but he said that it would be rude to enter your house as a wolf. The fox being unconscious is completely his fault though," she added. "He hit him with his fist."

Kitan lie there for a few minutes, unmoving. His comatose figure was laying still upon... something soft. He didn’t feel like opening his eyes yet, he just curled up on the nice, soft surface he concluded was a bed.

A sudden rush of memories jolted Kitan from his peaceful reverie. He remembered being in an alleyway, with two werewolves. The next thing he knew, he was here, wherever that was. Was he at home? Had he dreamed up his entire adventure? No, his body hurt too much for that to be the case.

Despite the fact that they felt glued together, Kitan forced open his eyes. The sudden rush of light caused him to flinch and close them quickly again, whining softly to himself. He more cautiously reattempted this feat, opening his eyes slowly. Very little changed. Rather than the shapeless darkness of one’s eyelids, Kitan was now privy to the shapeless color of his surroundings. He couldn’t see properly, so he craned his head around. Still just swirling color; Kitan could not identify a single object. He whined and curled up again, feeling very sick.

His ears instinctively flicked outwards as heard distorted voices of some sort, but the noise just made him feel worse. He had to get up; he didn’t feel at all okay. Kitan lurched from the bed, uncomfortably scraping one of his scabs in the process and re-opening the cut. He bled a bit as he slogged his legs over the edge.

Now came the hard part. He lifted his head, and the sudden ringing intensified wildly. He moaned and kneeled over, clutching his ears frantically, but powered through it enough to stand. Everything was still blurry, but he had to stand.

Kitan accomplished this, took to steps forwards, and promptly vomited, enduring a horrible crawling feeling as it left his stomach. He looked down at his former food, now revolting green slurry, with shock, even though he couldn’t actually see it. The acrid tang hung in his mouth. Kitan moaned and fell over sideways, fortuitously missing his pile.

The floor was nice, and though it was not as nice as the bed, he decided it was acceptable.

Shade huffed as he stamped back towards home, his face turned scarlette as he fumed in embarrasment. Oh how the creators must hate him. He winced at the blow his reputation took, feeling almost miserable. Oh well, it could have been worse... Right? No. This was a low...low blow to his reputation. Thinking back he cursed his stupidity.

"Hey! Hands off my bag!" Shade snarled as he approached the guard near the plant. Already the place was crawling with guards and Shade didn't like it. So, he turned on the male he noticed rummaging through a bag of some sort, one that smelt like the she-wolf. So, Shade leaped at the chance to growl at him. Hearing it however the man blinked up not in terror but of confusion and slight amusement.

"This is... your bag then?" He questioned with a cocked eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I dropped it off there before I set after some kids I saw. They were causin' havoc in the factory. I lost 'em though through the city muck." Shade growled irritably. "Why? Problem with my choice of bag?"

"It's not your bag I'm questioning. It's what's in the bag I'm concerned about." A wide grin split across the guards features as he held up whatever was in his hand. Shade blinked then felt his face flush when he realized what it was. A dress, red and with a slit up to the mid thigh. Oh crap. "Why do you have a dress and.... dare I say bra in here? Are you fooling with women again?"

Shade couldn't use that excuse. If he did, they'd try and find who it was and that in itself would give him away. He'd get landed in jail again for breaking his 'no-tricking-women-with-big-boobiedoos-into-bed' rule. So, in a momentary mental blank his mouth went on without him.

"I'm holding them.... for a friend." Shade stated as a bead of sweat rolled down his back. Oh damn... Oh damn....

"Oh? Who? That foxy fellow you were playing with earlier?" A michivious grin lit up the guard's face and Shade felt his eyebrow twitch as he wanted to get that man to stop smiling. So again, his mouth decided to run off without so much as a warning of what he was going to say.

"Yes. It's his." Shade answered flatly. "He's a cross-dresser in his free time. He buys clothes and gets me to run back home with them so that he can prance around with them on. I don't really question it so long as he pays me. What's with the face? You guys won't give me a job so I didn't have much choice. So now I'm a damn smuggler for a crossdresser."

Sorry kid. Shade winced when he realized what he'd said. Hope you never hear about this.

"A...A crossdresser?" Now the guard gaped at him in pure dumbstruck. "Where did you meet him?"

"The taverns." Was the immediate answer. After all, everything happened in the taverns.

"The... taverns?"

"Yep. We met a while back but I never realized he was one until I followed him home. Woke up with a bunch of dresses around me." Shade shrugged. "He's shy about it though so he'd probably deny it. Anyway, he's waiting for it and I'm damn well hungry for food. Can I have that back?"

"S-sure." The guard handed it back awkwardly before clearing his throat. "Tell you're... friend I say hello would you? Apologies if the dress is crinkled and all that."

"Sure no problem." Shade nodded as he took the bag with a grunt and turned to head toward the exit and homeward bound.

"And Shade?"

"Hmm?" Shade turned to glance behind him as the guard yelled at him while walking backward nearly out of talking distance.

"I'm glad you're riding that side of the pasture now. I was worried you'd go after my daughter one of these days!" The guard laughed as he turned back to chat with a couple of his guard friends. Shade blinked as he frowned, trying to understand what he meant. Then it hit him.

Shit.

Shade slammed his face into the side of a building, moaning about the hurt of his reputation as he ignored the obvious stares of other people. Oh, he was ruined! He'd have to hid underground and wail for the rest of his life just to be able to face another guard. Then again, he damaged the pup's reputation hard too so maybe this was karma being a little.... well, what was he to do?

Shade sighed as he pushed open the door, handed the she-wolf her bag and grumbled out a short version of it all. That is, until he heard the moans from the other room. Curious he glanced behind him, waiting for the boy to leave the room he was held in. Yet, he didn't. A couple more moans and suddenly a hurling and wet splash. The stench of vomit hit his nose and he bolted to the door, throwing it open to see his pup on the floor.

"LUCY!" Shade barked as he dodged the ucky spot and crouched near the boy. He wasn't sure what to do so he just pinched the boy's ears in an attempt to wake him up. He glanced up at Lucy with wide eyes. "I did not do that."

Gia was confused at Shade's explanation of how he got her bag back. Why would a guard be interested in women's clothing at all? Tucked down into a corner as her bag had been, Gia had thought that they would have thought that it was secreted away for a lover's tryst at the romantic warehouse. Or something like that. Humans were ten sorts of confusing on a good day, and this was turning out to be a bad day.

At the sound and smell of vomit, Gia instinctively let the wolf take over her senses. The wolf didn't find the stench offensive at all - if anything, it was interesting. She could smell so much more of the kid from his insides, so many different things. As the wolf adjusted to the bright light Gia felt her mind compensating, and suddenly she wondered why she was in a human dwelling at all. She wasn't locked in, so she was here of her own accord... before she got too far down that line of thought she reined herself in carefully. Find the shadow priest, she told herself firmly. Find him. Find a place to belong again.

With that sense of humanity to hold her, she turned to look at Shade, crouched next to the again immobile fox. "Well, you did a little. He was fine before you hit him."

The barfing seemed to clear his head a little. Kitan could see much more clearly than he could before, and was able to notice through the painful aching of his stomach and ringing in his ears that he was in a house with three people around him. “What happened?” He mumbled, or at least tried to. It came out as an incoherent mumble, likely because his face was currently pressed against the floor.

He rolled over sideways in the direction he was fairly certain was not the one he had puked on, and asked again, “What happened?” After inhaling, he extended his questions to “Where am I? Shade, is that you?”

"Yeah, it's me." Shade grumbled as he twisted his head to peer into blurry eyes. "How ya feelin'? Despite vomiting I mean. Eyes burn? Head spinning? Stomach still spinning?"

"What exactly did you hit him with?" Lucy asked dryly. "He's got a goose egg the size of a small bolder."

"My fist." Shade answered and was promptly smacked hard. "Ow!"

"STOP BEATING UP INNOCENT MALES!"

"Well, I..... Yes ma'am." Shade bowed his head and grimaced. Turning his eyes to look back at the boy he let out a weak chuckle. "So, other than that. Can you see straight?"

This human woman was so strange. She appeared to have no fear of Shade, despite the hulking werewolf being... well, being himself and roaring about. In fact, this house in general was strange - Shade appeared to truly care about the little fox, despite the smacking him in the head thing.

Speaking of, the fox looked much better. Gia continued to let the wolf have the control of her senses, especially her nose, to prevent her human side from gagging. Both wolf and human sides of her couldn't help but feel sorry for the kid as well. His day had really not been going well, from the little she'd seen of it.

Letting the wolf harangue the fox with questions, she looked instead at Lucy. "Did you collar the wolf?" Immediately the human side started scolding her - this is what you get for letting the wolf nose deal with the stink! - about lack of subtly and tact, about sneakily inquiring about something that was probably not meant to be talked about. However, Gia kept a smooth expression and tilted her head slightly, trying to look like she wasn't regretting the question.

Kitan grimaced as his vision fluctuated. “I can kind of see. Kind of. And the ringing in my ears has stopped, at least when people aren’t shouting. Who is that, by the way? My name is Kitan.” He extended a hand outwards in the direction he was fairly certain the voice was coming from. He might have missed it by a bit though, he wasn’t really sure.

He tried to sit up, but felt someone push him back down and continue to treat him. “What happened?” He repeated again, somewhat frustrated he hadn’t gotten an answer. Or maybe he had. Until a few moments ago, all he had been able to hear was that awful ringing and the rumbling of his stomach.

"A bee I missed with the rock landed on ya so I hit ya a bit hard." Shade answered dryly. He hoped the boy would get the hidden message behind that silly phrase. He eyed the boy as Lucy continued working. "Since then you've got a minor concussion and due to rumors around town have become my crossdressing lover."

"Indeed. Quite the tale if I do say so myself." Lucy chuckled as she continued treating the boy. She glanced up at Shade with a sharp commanding expression that told him no questioning was allowed. "Though instead of speaking of your idiotic lies, perhaps you should go and fix those misunderstandings you and the young lady have had. She also needs to get dressed so you may speak through the door of the bathroom until she has finished. I will stay with young Kitan and take care of him."

No if, what, but, or can's were said as Shade obediently stood and walked to Gia, waving a hand gently towards teh door in a signal to leave and follow him.

"Come on then 'She-wolf'. The watercloset is this way."

It hadn't really bothered Gia that she was still only wearing Shade's shirt. In fact, if it had been socially acceptable she probably would have just walked around nude. Humans were so finicky about things that they call "decency" and "standards." It was hard for a girl to keep up.

Nevertheless, she understood that if she wanted to be accepted in human society she needed the fake skin they wore. She looked inside her bag and noticed that her clothing, while rumpled, was still more than serviceable and nothing had been taken. "My name is Gia," she reminded Shade as she followed him. "I think you should call me that if we're to be humans for the time."

Once at the door to the bathroom Gia slipped inside and then pulled out one of her nicer dresses, a wolf-brown one with scarlet red accents along the waist and skirt and sleeves. Lucy seemed like good people, as one of her old friends would have put it, and she had learned that humans dressed nicely around good people, if they had any taste. Shade clearly didn't, being content to run around shirtless and sweaty, but Gia, if not human, could at least pretend like she understood the delicacies of human society.

"Did she collar you?" Gia repeated her question through the door. Again, not subtle, but this big wolf was anything but subtle.

Kitan sat there, a bit confused, as Shade explained what had happened. As the big werewolf left the room, Kitan reached out and stammered “w-wait, what did-” but Shade was already gone. He stared at the door for a few seconds before the ache in his head caused him to lose focus again. He slumped back down to the floor.

He turned to Lucy. “Why the heck did he... bees? Cross dressers? I am so confused.” He confided to his improvised physician. “So are you a doctor? Is that why Shade brought me here?” He hesitated for a moment. “Can I stand up and go back to the bed?” He wondered if he was asking to many questions.
