Re: Family Ties
sorry for the late post, I've been fighting a cold for most of the weekend and had back to back hockey games late yesterday. Needless to say i pretty much fell asleep after a shower (almost in the shower actually lol).
All the satisfaction I need... comes when I step out onstage and see the people. That's awesome. I love that.

>I would have been completely fine with letting Kitan traumatize himself
Sorry...could not resist being the one to point out-- "OMFG! Kitan's sitting on a corpse!!" ;P
Don't worry on that, Clarisse. Been sick somewhat myself. We're moving at a good pace. No one minds if we slow some, now and then. (well, at least I don't)

Heheh, it's okay. Now that I've posted I've realized he'll just be traumatizing himself in a different way.
Kitan's making quite the spectacle. *dances madly*
And two days does not count as slow by any reasonable definition, considering the average length of our posts and the rate at which the usual person posts here at Thar. Quality is ultimately more important than quality, after all. As long as we don't all take a two dayer in sequence or one of us misses a whole week, I don't see any problems.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and Alex, feel free to control Kitan a bit if you want him to get onto the horse, provided you think it will help the flow of the thread. He'll go along with pretty much whatever anyone says at this point.

Re: Family Ties
Speak of the devil and he will appear.
Just life, nothing extraordinary. I don't remember if I've mentioned this in the past to you Kitan - but my work (both military and civilian) makes me move around quite alot with limited internet access sometimes. That combined with a busy schedule as I head into another field season of research makes it difficult for me to post quite as often as I should everywhere I should.
Sorry for the wait - I'll be posting tonight.

Well now I feel all embarrassed for calling for posts literally the day you intended to post.
*self-slaps* Just wanted to make sure nothing was going wrong.

Re: Family Ties
No worries. I wasn't trying to suggest you weren't right to ask - you absolutely were.
I do feel bad that you all had to wait and I can promise I'll try to keep up as best I can. Though, I will throw out a word of caution: there will be stints where I can't get to the internet for several days at a time.
(There was a point where I'd throw a for a while on the end there, but I've come to see that realistically it's unlikely that that won't be the case anytime in the next decade.)

Re: Family Ties
My apologies too -- I thought I had, more or less, communicated that sometimes -- he just done get plain busy.
I've worked with him long enough now that his reliability isn't in question. Always a matter of when, not if. And, I try not to be too forward with reporting a player's activity in other quarters -- 'cause it's sorta bad form to play 'monitor.'
Nonetheless, that was long enough I probably should have communicated some vague reassurance, at least.
And I'll try to have something along asap. I don't see today as likely -- but almost certainly tomorrow.

Re: Family Ties
In case he doesn't make it by to tell you of it himself --
I learned that Alex's grandfather passed away. He doesn't plan to be around for about a week's time.
I will still get my own post in today -- which will set you both up for your next.
After that, I plan to give Alex whatever time he needs/wants.

Re: Family Ties
Post is up. It's a bit shorter and more basic than I usually like, but I'm back in the swing of things at the least.
Would you guys like to skip ahead to Marn? Or would you like to play out the rest of the trip? I don't think it should be all that long. A few hours maybe?
Thank you, by the way, Morveya... For relaying my situation to our writing partners here. It seems that things are all settled on my end.

Re: Family Ties
I orignally expected to ask Morveya about the content of the letter along the road, but could just as easily do so in Marn. We need a reason for Alex to get suspicious and tag along, as well as giving Morveya and Kitan an excuse to follow.
Also, Clarrise, this one is completely my bad, but Kitan looks a lot younger than he is. I should have been more specific than just saying "boyish" features, becuase I'd say he looks like he's 15. Don't worry about changing anything, it's not an issue. Just keep it in mind for future posts.

Re: Family Ties
Folks -- I'll have my own in tomorrow. Not the time, today.
Because of the weather, and the stress situation, and injuries, and Kitan's state of mind -- at this point, it would make much more sense to have that conversation in Marn, I think...

Re: Family Ties
Actually, I see no reason not to write the next post in Marn. Other than to say yes to Alex, I don't have any outstanding reason to write another for the woods.
If there's no objections -- I'll get us going in Marn, next.
But, there may be a little more delay while I decide how I want to write and approach that. It's a significant intro -- starting the story proper, as it does. I'd like to do it justice. I need to read up a bit more on the finer details of the place.
That I won't take too long, I promise.
