Re: A Most Devious Deception
Kaleb winced. Marn. "Depends, mate. You got a hooded cloak I can borrow? I'm not exactly... well loved in Marn." He smiled his own wry grin even as Amyrea ranted away in his ear.
"This is NOT a good idea, my love, the guards will chase you as soon as they scent you! Oh my heart! You cannot do this!" "Shuddup Amyrea." Kaleb hissed at the girl before turning back to the werewolf.
"And if we're gonna be traveling might as well get to know each other. I'm Kaleb Morrington... I have a ghost who follows me around named Amyrea. What d'ya call yourself?" Kaleb asked ignoring Amyrea's sputtering.
"I am your FIANCE!!!" "Oh shut UP Amyrea." Kaleb hissed again before paying attention to the elf before him.

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Fusha had been travelling for the past three or four hours, judging by how much the sun had moved, towards where she thought the small town she had once sighted laid. When she reached the edge of the forest, she shifted into her human form after lying her bundle of clothes on the ground. Her nose shrunk down into her face while her arms and legs lengthened and grew. Her calloused paws turned soft and the digits elongated into hands and feet. A bright flash of light accompanied the change, and left a naked young woman standing in the trees at the edge of the woods.
She quickly untied the rope from around her clothes and began to dress. The long leather trousers went on first, it's more worn areas exposing some of her skin, followed by the accompanying shirt. When she had laced up the shirt so that it covered her chest and breasts tightly, she drew her long cloak over her shoulders and threw the cloak on top of her head. Nodding to herself, she began walking towards an alley between a few buildings, hearing the sounds of two of the people that presumably lived here conversing. When she entered the alley, she noted the amount of trash that littered the sides of tattered shelters before advancing forward to where the two she had heard earlier stood. One looked young and arrogant, and possessed pointy ears and long silver hair, while the other looked even slightly younger and had short dark hair and rounded ears. The second of the two looked more than a little frustrated, and by the looks on both of their faces, neither were too pleased to see her.

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Raeilun was just about to say something when he suddenly smelled a very strange odor--not unpleasant, just new. He continued to sniff the air as he looked down the alley to find what seemed to be a young elf ---in her teens Raeilun guessed--- but she was curiously short for an elf, only standing at about 4'6 or so. She had definitely seen them, and was making no move to leave, which bothered Raeilun, ever so slightly.
Raeilun scowled. "Excuse me, but I believe it's quite obvious that me and my friend here are having a private discussion. Do you mind telling me why you're standing there gawking at us?"
(Lol that's fine Fush, but for the record Raeilun is older than Kaleb

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Fusha saw the taller of the two scowl, and then form his mouth into weird shapes, unintelligible sounds escaping from his lips. She cocked her head sideways, as is the habit of coyotes, and furrowed her brows, hoping these people would understand that she didn't understand. She scratched her head, trying to think of how to communicate with these people. She stripped out of her clothes, at which the people's eyes widened, which she didn't understand, and then started to shift. Her nose grew out and started to rapidly grow a white and gray fur across it, as did the rest of her body. Her breasts shrunk with her chest, as did her legs, arms, fingers, and toes. Her hands instantaneously calloused on different parts creating tough pads, and her nails grew thicker and harder. A bright flashed erupted from her body, making the two people hold their hands over their eyes, and left a snow coyote standing there in the alley.
She proceeded to bark in her native tongue, the minute differences in each sound carrying more weight than was previously thought, which formed the message, "I don't understand. I'm here to know what this... thing... I have means." She then put her paw on the letter to indicate the "thing" she referenced, and cocked her head to the side to wait for a response.

Kaleb was about to scream and just bash his head against the wall when he saw her strip. Well shit! Kaleb was about to tell her that wasn't necessary, that he'd do whatever she wanted, when she turned into a coyote. Well... shit. Then she started barking at them, likely trying to communicate. Oh fuck... gritting his teeth he turned to the elf.
"I hope you understand dog speak, because I sure as hell don't." Listening for any answers Kaleb moved forward and crouched before the canine, offering a hand and smiling as though to show the girl he was a friend. He then looked down at the letter her paw was on and frowned.
"A letter huh?" He grinned at her again before taking the letter and opening it. He looked back at Amyrea. "Can you read this?" He'd found out that when she was alive, Amyrea had been a considerably wealthy girl, so chances were that she could read it. When he didn't get an immediate answer he looked around, his ghostly companion was no-where to be seen. Odd... she never leaves me... maybe she got pissed? Kaleb shrugged it off before setting the letter down after folding it up again. He turned to the elf.
"You just gonna stand there frozen, wolf boy? Or translate if you can?"

Raeilun scratched his head. "I don't know... That's coyote, not wolf. Contrary to what people believe, it's not all the same language. I think I can make out some of it though..... From what I can tell... She wants to know what the letter says... Hrm.."
Raeilun had no real fromal education. He could only read a little, and everytime he struggled with the simplest words and it made his head hurt.
"Well... We would need to find someone to read the letter.. My mother is quite good at it actually." Raeilun looked at Kaleb. "Since we were headed that way anyways, I don't see why she can't tag along. I just hope that she can understand this..."
Raeilun began to bark, telling her the plan, hoping that she could understand him better than he could her.

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Fusha tilted hear head even farther to the side as the younger of the two started to make more noises unknown to her ears. She growled a little as they were conversing, becoming impatient. She had almost given up hope when the older one started to tell her something that she could sort of understand.
"...Go to... Marn...Mother...thing," he pointed to the note in his hand, "talk to... Uncle... because... Father... died."
Huh. Well she got the basic gist of the message. They want to go somewhere called Marn so they could talk to the older one's Uncle about his Father's death. Hmm... and something about his mother and the thing of hers.
"What is Marn?" She barked to them, "And how might we get there?"

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Kaleb wanted to understand what the hell those two were saying, but really just couldn't care less. Rising he patted the coyotes head and leaned against a wall, still irked about this whole idea of a quest.
Amyrea flitted into Kaleb's sight, looking pensive. Kaleb cocked an eyebrow at her.
"And where'd you go, lovely?" Kaleb asked, causing Amyrea to perk at the nick-name. "I wanted to see if the guards were still looking for you, my love. They seem to still be wary but if you wear a hood you should be okay!" Kaleb smiled at her in thanks before turning to his two other travel companions. Changers he was going to hate this...
"Look guys, if we're gonna go let's go now... and get me a fucking hood. Amyrea says they shouldn't notice me if I've got one on. Either way I just want to get this merry little journey done and over with, okay?"

Re: A Most Devious Deception
"Don't worry, Kaleb, this shouldn't take up to much of your precious time," Raeilun scoffed.
Bending down to get at eye level with the mysterious shifter, Raeilun barked "Marn is a city. Filled with many people and many things to do.... Or so i've heard. So c'mon, we can make all the introductions on the way back to my cottage."
Rising, Railun motioned for Kaleb and the Coyote to follow him, and began heading out of the market towards the road that led to his cottage.

Re: A Most Devious Deception
At approximately the same time, Taele was exiting the market as well with a rather large basket of assorted fruits.
'Oh dear gods, I hope I don't run into anyone. I can't see worth a damn.' she thought as she stumbled about. 'This might be one of my worst purchases ever. Not that I won't eat it, but-'
And her thought was abruptly cut short as she ran into someone or something that was a good bit taller than she was. Taele fell back with a yelp, the basket of fruit hitting the ground and flying all over her. She herself hit not too long after with a thump.
Taele groaned. She'd fallen on her arm, and it had just healed after a break. She was pretty sure it hadn't shattered the bone again, but it still hurt like hell to fall on it. She laid there for a moment, dazed, and looked for the person she'd run into. Her arm throbbed in pain.

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Nodding to the person who spoke in a tongue close to hers, she shifted back and re-dressed. She started to follow the other two through the streets and into an area bustling with people looking at different structures with all assortments of food laid on the table. It amazed her at how little these people cared there was so much food just begging for the taking. So she took one. And bit right into it, closing her eyes at the tangy flavor of the orange fruit in her mouth. She felt something bump into her side, almost causing her to trip, and succeeding in making her spit all those amazing juices on the ground. The big woman looked up at her with a horrified look on her fruit and juice-covered face. Not knowing what else to do, she picked up another of the sweet-tasting fruits that the woman had dropped and started to eat it, again enjoying the savory taste of the juices contained inside.

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Kaleb sighed in relief as they started moving. Thank the changers! No one else would be sow them down now- *thud* shiiiiiiit what now?! Kaleb turned to see a rather small, cute looking girl on the ground behind the shifter, who was eating what Kaleb assumed to be one of her fruits. Quickly he poked wolf-boy to draw his attention to the mini-collision before he jogged back himself.
"Hey, you okay girl?" He saw how pale she was and felt bad for her, but really he doubted if the shifter cared. Or maybe just didn't know what to think. Shaking his head Kaleb offered a hand to help the small fae up, ignoring the voice in his head that was screaming that the girl was likely a magic user. At least she's a hot magic user...
"Sorry about my... accaintance. She's er.... new... for lack of better words. You okay?"

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Raeilun was daydreaming of glory and riches as he walked through the market ---- when he was rather roughly poked by Kaleb.
"What is it no--" Raeilun froze as he spotted the petite form on the ground.
"Taele?" He said, suprised to see the Fae. Kaleb was already there helping her up, so Raeilun only stood there, dumbfounded. They had been friends, but it had been so long since he had seen her. She was just as beautiful as ever......

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Taele saw the man offering his hand and smiled up, then grimaced as her arm sent another spasm of pain through her. She took the offered hand and came to her feet.
"It's...erm..okay. I should have been watching. So sorry."
That's when she noticed the attractive man standing by her rescuer. She was a bit irked that he hadn't deigned to help, but she was content to shoot him a dirty look. That is, until she noticed who it was.
"Raeilun?" she asked in disbelief. "Is it really you?"
As soon as she got to her feet, and before she could stop herself, she hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
Taele then turned as red as her hair and coughed a bit.
"It's so good to see you again." she said, trying to return her voice to its normal calm and controlled tone.
"Who are your...friends?" she asked, as she noticed the woman eating her fruit. Taele popped her uninjured arm out and snatched it as a wave of jealousy swept over her for Rae.
"That's mine." she said, meaning more than just the fruit.

Re: A Most Devious Deception
Fusha:
The girl was upset, the taller, bigger girl had taken her sweet fruit! Instinct to live told her to attack, but logic won over. The girl was much bigger and would to be too hard to fight for just some fruit. But then again, perhaps she had offended the girl somehow? Fusha cocked her head, confused.
Kaleb:
Kaleb smiled back at the girl when she thanked him, only to be taken aback when he learned that she and wolf-boy (now identified as Reailun) knew each other. Moving to the side, Kaleb produced another fruit for the wolf-girl, one that he'd stolen earlier. She took it carefully, apparently more concerned about taking food now. Kaleb grinned winningly at her and nodded, please when she began to eat again.
Bending, Kaleb quickly gathered the fruit that had fallen and placed it back in the crate, lifting it again with a small grunt.
"Right, hate to break up the reunion, but please can we go? I don't mind carrying this for you, love, but you'll have to lead me there." Kaleb winked at the Fae, only to see an older, male fae scowl at him. Kaleb blinked at the man and woman behind the little female fae. He decided to shake it off. Maybe just some old guy who had a creepy love for the girl, who was he to know?
