Amyra came flitting back just as Lily stepped into view. After a quick once-over Kaleb couldn't help but to wonder how the small girl handled such a pack. Deciding he wasn't about to question it he answered he question breezily.

"No, Matthew's out. C'mon let's hurry before he comes back. Knowing my bloody luck with the prick he'd walk in just as we're about to walk out..." Kaleb grumbled before sneaking into the small house. Silently he signaled Amyra to play watch dog before he snuck about the house, silently leaving the not-as-precious gems about the house. An aquamarine here, a topaz there... Kaleb winced every time he set one down before reminding himself there were tonnes more waiting for him at home.

He had just finished strategically placing yet another small topaz when Amyra flitted in, looking panicked. "Time to go!" She hissed as though someone else could hear. Nodding at her he signaled Lily to leave before he silently slid out a window, not wanting to be caught at the front door, making sure to hold it open for the small woman - he didn't want the troll eating him after all!

"C'mon! They're almost here dammit!" Kaleb hissed at the small girl, waiting impatiently for her to come out.

After finishing the stew, and generously tipping the cook, he set off out of the half rotted old building and started down the street at a relaxed contented pace. About half way down the street, near a recently closed smithy he took a moment to check the suns position in the sky. It looked about time for him to move into action. All it would take was for him to run up to some random guard standing loafing about, and then tell him...

Arshad froze mid step, slowly the contented expression that had rested lazily on his face since he had left the small tavern, slid off to be replaced by a tense anxious mask. He had forgotten where the thief they were framing lived...

He racked his brain for a moment, he didn't remember Kaleb mentioning exactly where he lived, just somewhere near a well about south of here. That wouldn't be enough to get a guard's attention, he could just go down to where the well was and look for them there, but that would take to long, the thief being framed could return by then, not to mention that the others may already be done and hiding at a safe spot far away. He would have to let them find out somehow, but how?

At that moment he touched the pendant on his chest and a thought occurred to him. He quickly backed into a small alleyway so as not to be overheard, and quickly began speaking in his native tongue

"Elene, you need to find Kaleb, and quick, tell him-" he took a few tense breaths and pondered what exactly he wanted her to tell him. " T-that I don't know the thief's name, or where he lives, he needs to somehow tell me who it is we are framing, all I need is a name. I'll be waiting right here until he contacts me." He stared at the wall for a while, half expecting something to happen. When nothing did, he slouched down against a nearby wall, next to a sleeping cat and an unconscious drunken man, and hoped that Kaleb would get the message.

When the little pixie-girl had failed to come out and Kaleb could hear the guards coming, he decided that it was time to go. "Good luck girlie - just remember I tried to help ya out." Kaleb hissed through the window before bolting as quietly and sneakily as he could. He was back at the well when the native girl flitted in front of him. Kaleb raised an eyebrow at the urgency in her eyes.

"Arshad says that he's not sure who the man we are framing is or his location and would like you to contact him." Kaleb's eyebrows raised up past his hairline. Well apparently the guy didn't think him mad after all!

"Well then you're going to have to lead me to him as I've already done the dirty deed my dear girl." The ghostly woman nodded before turning, Kaleb following easily, dodging guards wherever he went - he wasn't clear just yet. Finally as they rounded a corner Kaleb spotted Arshad sitting next to a passed out drunk and an old alley-cat, looking dejected and miserable.

"Well, I got the message from your girl, bud. Guy's been framed so if ya snitch him out now, that'll throw the guards off our scent and I can grab the jewels." He looked down at the guy and half wondered why he was still around, maybe for the jewels?

The sound of Kaleb's voice shook Arshad out of his stupor. For a pained moment he simply stared at the young thief before his words seemed to reach him. He nodded, with a quick to make sure that the drunk was still asleep, he pulled himself onto his feet motioning for Kaleb to follow him.

"Good, then I'm guessing you got my message." Every word was edged with thin layer of apprehension, the anxiety and melancholy that been their only moments ago had seemingly faded away.

"Alright," His voice lowering to a whisper. "All I need to know, is enough to convince the guards to check this guy, but not so much that they think I was his accomplice."

As soon as he had finished he leaned against the wall shooting quick glances down either entrance to the alley, all the time quietly wondering why he had ever bothered sending Elene to find this madman.

Kaleb grinned at the man. "That's easy, Matthew's a prick who's been known or suspected of theivery. You even just give the smallest hint that the guys been doing something... immorale we shall say, and the guards will be onto him like hounds on a steak." Kaleb grinned at the image produced in his mind. He looked back to Arshad. "All ya gotta do, man, is tell the guards you saw him coming home with some expensive, shiny shit and they'll be all over him. You don't even have to be really specific."

Kaleb cut it short when he heard guards approach. Whirling he saw two guardsmen behind him, looking quite pissed to say the least.
"Shit!" Kaleb hissed before taking off, not even bothering to check if Arshad was following. A number of twisted corners, leaped ledges and scaled walls later, Kaleb found himself at his shack once more, Arshad nowhere in sight.

"Poor git... couldn't keep up with lil ol' me." Kaleb clucked as he slipped inside, snagged the small bag of jewels, and slipped out.

"Think it's time we leave Marn for a bit, eh Amyrea?" Kaleb asked his ever-present companion. The ghostly girl nodded and giggled.

"Anything you want, Kaleb, my love." Rolling his eyes and grabbing his emergency "get-the-hell-outta-here" bag, Kaleb booked it for anywhere but here... or at least, anywhere where he could sell these things.
