I'm changing it up a bit, but basic running abilities will be used.

Aight longer than hell post. Kori - Mela's too busy licking his wounds at the moment, to blow to the head was also a blow to his pride so he's a little queasy about going after Kori again. Kat? Well I tried to leave it open enough for you so... let's see where this goes now.

I can get Derin back to Saruna's to present her plan to save them, but the plan won't work with Megalone in the picture. (There's a lot of storyline potential right there, come to think of it.)

I'm going to try and keep Mela out of that pic. Sounds like Kori seriously wants to fight so I'll get Mela to attack him again. Sounds good otherwise :D

How does it sound like I seriously want to fight? I hit him and ran away.

Which apparently was still way to much to do without dying or something.

Well, he *is* a battlemage.

Yea. He is. And he got hit in the head, very hard, by a giant human with a really hard wooden shield and a very big steel hammer. Whos prodigious strength was augmented by a magical amulet. Mela doesn't wear a helmet. I'm sorry, but that is an exploitable weakness. I read Mela's character sheet, strength was mentioned, it didn't say he was super human resilient or fast. Therefore he got hit with the hammer. If I was saying I killed him, then there would be a problem. All I did was buy time.

Also, to the Fleshshiver spell. Time, how it affects according to size, and the force used wasn't said. So therefore, the giant barbarian with a high pain tolerance ignored the spell long enough to call out the word to his amulet, which makes pain hurt a lot less, and bashed Senor Battlemage. Then ran.

In the end, it basically comes down to no new, first time character would ever be able to seriously damage a battlemage. And I never did find the part in Mela's sheet where it said he does not wear a helmet. :P I know it's frustrating for you, Kori, since you're the one having to do the tap dance, but battlemages are pretty much the god moders of Thar. They were made that way on purpose so Marn could be the oppressive place it is. I mean, c'mon, in another thread I'm in there's a character who might as well be a demigod who is still getting her ass handed to her by battlemages. That's why we keep being all critical, we're not trying to be spoilsports, I swear. :(

If they get out of this and do start heading out, we can let Kori beat up some brigands along the way. Some real asshole, women-raping brigands. :D

At this point I'm kinda in favor of just letting the characters do their thing for a few posts to kinda see where everything is going, and then go for the plot again.

edit - oh yeah, the reason I posted in the first place: I AM SO SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG. D: You may thwak me with stick. D:

It says in the thingie that battlemages don't generally wear helmets and wear red gloves.

Fleshshiver creates involuntary muscle spasms -- logically, the stronger somebody is, the worse the effect should be.

Alright guys. I've got Fay and (maybe?) Saruna waiting for Derin and now Kori. Well... I just hope Kori doesn't bash Fay before asking questions. XD Also I've semi reintroduced Mela - whether he actually succeeds in catching up with us is up to you guys, I'll just play him as we see fit :3

We've had the battlemage discussion quite a bit lately. Since the battlemage just officially called for my blood, where can we go to get away from him?
