Tasida Nox

Post by Tasida » Tue Apr 20, 2010 10:14 am

Player Name: Annette
Name: Tasida Ferrox
Age: 18
Race: Human
Height: 5 feet and 4 inches
Weight: 120 pounds

Physical Description:

When Tasida came of age, her father cut her curly brown hair off at her shoulders. It spent most of its time tied back in a tight ponytail anyways, leaving her face free from the bulk of it. Short, barely-curled bangs fall often and frame her bright green eyes.

Along the left side of her jaw runs a subtle scar which is no more than one shade paler than her fair skin. Another is a circular light shade of pink in the center of her right hand. Though that is the most visible of her scars, Tasida has many that are often covered with clothing. Including one that stretches across her back and various small scarred scratches over her arms and torso.

Tasida is big-boned and sturdy for a woman. She often wears a black cloak to conceal her mass, along with thin leather armor under whatever long-sleeved basic cloth clothing she has clean. Her boots have thick soles and are often covered by the bottoms of her pants.

Possessions:

Tasida inherited a small house in Marn from her parents, and besides general furniture for her one bedroom-one bathroom house, she does not have much of anything. Her weapons of choice are her double-bladed axes, both presents from her father. If she were traveling, they both would hang on her hunting belt at her sides. She possesses a backpack from her hunting and gathering days with her father as well as a pocket of about 45 Bishani from her mother to “get her on her feet”.

Powers or Strengths:

Training: Tasida’s dream is to become a guardswoman, and when she told her father that at age six, he began training her with general melee and range weapons. Tasida can pick up any weapon and know or quickly figure out how exactly to use it with the most efficiency. Also, when in a fighting scenario, she is nimble on her feet and observant of her opponent. Despite her occasional social bursts, Tasida is mostly a quiet individual because she likes to observe people to decipher their character and to figure out how their actions may affect her.

Survival: As part of her training years, her father took her over the Ofriyu Mar and hunting for wild game. She learned more than just animal behavior, though. Sometimes he left her out to fend entirely for herself, where she learned first hand of what would make her sick and what was edible, how to properly cook her own meals and the like.

Liar: Her mother’s single contribution was her flawless ability to lie. Though she realizes that she should not, Tasida enjoys this talent and eagerly awaits opportunities to use it. Through the years it has made her a fast thinker and an interesting story-teller. More often than not, however, Tasida has the discipline to only lie in necessary situations. This does not directly affect her relationships with anyone, it simply means if she tells some one a lie, it cannot be detected on her being at all.

Weaknesses:

Rage: Tasida responds violently to threats and is quick to take most things personally. Her rage may cause blindness in her fighting skills, and as her father warns, may be the death of her. Having been raised more by her father than her mother, Tas would much rather fist-fight something out before discussing it diplomatically.

Magic: Tasida was born and raised in Marn, where magic is forbidden. Originally, it terrified her to a great extent, but now that she realizes where she lives and is protected by the worst of it, a little bit of it here and there just gives her shivers. Though any thing more than beginner-level spells frighten her deeply and may also cause her to blindly fight or put herself at the mercy of a magic wielder.

Intelligence: Though Tas is observant and logical, her knowledge is limited to her specialties. She is by no means book smart and could be taken advantage of because of diplomatic ignorance. On the flip side, she may observe a person to be more intelligent than she, which may increase her rage factor against them.

Besides those main points, Tasida is young, ergo, less experienced than most other citizens wandering about Marn and elsewhere.

History:
Before Tasida turned six years old and informed her father she wanted nothing more than to be a guard, she spent most of her days with her mother and siblings. Tasida’s sister was two years older than she, and the two were very close, telling each other their secrets and their wishes and their dreams all night long. When Tasida’s father began training her for the training needed to become a guard, he worked her all day and part of the night until she was exhausted, pulling her away from both her sister and her mother. After that it did not take much time before Caeda and her mother began distancing themselves from each other. The hostility was baking her house from the inside out, very slowly.

While the silent anger stewed, her father rained blades of all varieties on Tasida, teaching her how to use them and how they would affect her if she crossed one. For the first few years, he was her only opponent, leaving on her a good number of scars from various nicks and cuts and slices until she had his whole offensive style mastered and memorized. Her training was every day, almost all day.

After Tasida turned fifteen, Caeda confronted her parents about the awful lifestyle they were teaching Tasida. Concerned for her little sister, in private, Caeda asked her to run away with her. Tasida was genuinely disturbed with the request and refused. The next morning, Caeda was no where to be found. Tas’s parents paid it no serious mind, thinking their other daughter would return after a few days. On the other hand, Tasida was deeply concerned and it affected her training. Her father did not have the patience for it, and began punishing her for a lack of effort. A few months later, Tasida began showing impressive improvement in her training.

A year later, a letter was delivered to the residence from Caeda. In it, Caeda informed of an exciting journey through Thar Shaddin and her now living in Europa. Her parents paid special mind to a confession written in the middle of the letter. Caeda admitted to them that she had been learning magic. In a rut of fury, her father set off to find her and returned two months later with no avail. A while after his return, they received another letter, informing the family that Caeda was murdered by fire magic. Tasida was devastated, so her father taught her how to hide her most vulnerable emotions. From the day she knew of her sister’s death, Tasida swore to never tolerate something as dangerous as magic.

Two years of strict training paid off, though. Her father was genuinely proud of her and gave her more freedom. Her mother was proud as well, and the distance between them that had grown slowly began to close again. They bought her a small house in the residential area of Marn and furnished it only with the basic furniture. On Tasida’s eighteenth birthday, they helped her move out and into her new house, where she currently resides.

Before she begins formal guard training, Tasida needs to save up some money and find a job to keep herself steady.

I'm going to approve this. I just want to mention that we have been getting a few female guard characters recently and although that is fine, the Guard is largely made of male members so as a female guard she would surrounded by men.

Although it's not necessary for this profile, I'd give some thought as to why her father is such a badass. It doesn't say what he does, but that dude ain't no farmer.

Also, 106 lbs at 5'4" doesn't sound big boned. I imagine she'd be more like 120.

Otherwise it looks good.

She's short and stalky =) And I did notice the sudden splurge of female guards, which is why I'm kind of starting her as just finding a job, to give her room to become an adventurer if needed.

As far as her father goes, I have no idea. I just had to think of something, maybe I'll make him a retired adventurer or something. Tas isn't going to interact with her parents for now, and I'll burn those bridges when I get there.

Thank you for approving me! =)
