I know a little bit of WoD. Played one session. My girlfriend has a few of the books.

But I've always butted heads with people here who do like D&D, like Mina, Kamar...
Yeah, that's something Frug and I have had to agree to disagree on. Personally, I think D&D can be stupid and rules lawyer-ish, but that's more a function of certain DMs and certain players than something inherent to D&D. I've played D&D campaigns that were far more character-based and genuinely emotional than most movies. I've also played campaigns that were all dice rolling, numbers, and monster smashing. D&D is more flexible than people imagine it.

That said, Frug and I will never agree on this. ;)

He also likes WoD better than I do. I like the setting, but the game mechanics drive me crazy. Different tastes, eh? :)

Yes; good and bad. :fox:

Yes; good and bad.
I'm glad you're finally admitting to having bad taste. It's probably healthy to have that self-awareness. :D

Lol, again, I'm a little late coming to the party (sorry for not reading more, Frug!), but better late than never, aye?

I'm Xeis, which is pronounced ZEY-is before anyone gets confused. Been an rp'er and a writer-thingy since junior high, but took a couple years off to enjoy married life. The last couple of months, I've been searching for an active, writing-oriented board to give my creative legs a stretch, and from what I've seen so far, Thar Shaddin seems to be just the ticket.

Since joining a few days ago, I've since learned that I'm already something of a rare breed: a female playing a male character ;) But... I just couldn't help it! Yyan's lived in my brain in one form or another for years, and since I decided to come out of rp retirement, he suddenly became the most vocal (which is ironic, if you've read his character sheet).

Generally, I create characters with long-term potential development in mind. I love strategizing plot arcs and character development, so if anyone's looking for a planning partner, I'm definitely down with that!

Anyway, enough rambling from me. I look forward to playing with you guys!

I think I've greeted most of the new folks, but just in case - "Hello!" *waves*

Xeis,

So glad you joined my AR thread. I've got an idea of where I want to go with it, but I am all about the cooperative fiction so please feel free to throw in some things as well. Thank you so much for joining. :)

And thank you for clarifying the pronounciation of the name. I've been saying "Zice" in my head, rhyming it with Dice. I completely missed the Dr. Zeus sound.

Doctor Xeis, Doctor Xeis! oh ohooohhohoh!

*plays with Frug's wee bat!*

Aww, thanks so much, Metarie :D The thread has just started, and already it's been a lot of fun. It will be cool to see where things end up. And if I think of anything to throw in there, I'll let you know.

Hihi guys. I'm Kat.

I've been doing text-based roleplaying for about five or six years now. The other game I belong to is a text-based mud, and while there are a good many wonderful rpers on there either the times don't match up (it's live text rp) or the drama rears its head. I help maintain a clan there, and amidst my other pursuits I also engage in the time killer known as WoW. But, between that and the cesspool known as Hollow, I've been looking for something in which I can splurge with other writers and create some wonderful stories.

Iarei is a newer character of mine I'm also using in Hollow, but I feel she's stifled there. I want to let her out a bit and stretch her wings, and when I found this place I knew it'd be perfect. A place for writers, by writers?! How have I not found this board before? I know when reading the lore and history I felt like finally coming home. :) RP wise I love creating plots, introducing complications, and I frequently let my characters get beat up in the name of progress. I hope to prove useful to you guys both in creating plots and advancing others.

As for me, well, not much to say. I'm owned by two mischievous ferrets who may be getting another brother or sister should I find an appropriate ferret up for adoption. I've got a great boyfriend, love to cook, write and draw. I tend to write at work >> when I have the opportunity, so I'm usually around on weekdays to do lots of rp. I've had rp stints that lasted well over ten hours (with the understanding that a few of those hours was spent waiting to post XD), so if you're game I'm game.

Nice to meet you all!

Hello! Welcome aboard.
Ferrets are adorable.
If you feel like doing 10 hour stints, the chat room is the place to be, rawr.
