I know a lot of the people on the board have pets, and rumour has it they're very cute. So I thought we could have a picture thread where we can all see the cuteness, say "Awww," and otherwise marvel. I will start us off, since I am beginning the thread.

Here are my two cats, Maisie and Zephyr. They're both boys. I know Maisie is a girl's name; he already had that name when I got him.

They aren't from the same litter. They just happen to have the same colours. Maisie is the one who's mostly white, and Zephyr is the one who's mostly black. Mais is almost three years old, and Zephyr is one and a half.



Those are my boys! I'm so proud of them!

Jess, your cat looks so peaceful and zen, and what a great fur colour! Sophie is even cuter than I was imagining her.

Drake, Captain Jack is adorable too. I love those ears. And the name really suits.

This isn't meant to be favouritism-- Mais was two when I got him, and I unfortunately don't have a single picture of him as a kitten. I've had Zephyr since he was tiny, so for him I have a ton of baby pics. Some of which I will now subject you to.

Aww... Everyone's pets are so cute! I have to add a couple of pictures of my kitty, Fuzzybutt.

We found his as a stray, when he was a little over a year old. He was born with a number of birth defects that affect his eyes, so he's nearly blind, and then he got a bad ear infection, which caused him to go deaf in one ear. So he's a pretty sad excuse for a cat. But he's cute sometimes.

Okay, so I had this tiny little kitten who died. Super sad. Then, by Chinese magic, a white kitten who looked basically as if little Yulan had grown up a few weeks more ran up to me outside the day after Yulan died. And he wouldn't leave me alone. So now I have another kitten! He's almost twice the size Yulan was when I got her.

His name is Rude Boy. Here are pictures, by popular demand, of Rude Boy playing with my coworker's cat. Her cat is not yet fully grown, about four or five months old. This is in her apartment, which looks like a pretty standard slightly well-off Chinese person's apartment.

He is SO adorable!!! Is he pure white? What a beautiful kitty. And I love the name Rude Boy indeed!

Sophie had her vet appointment today, and everything went fabulously! She tested negative for heartworms and got her vaccinations. Here she is refusing to pose for a picture:



The vet and her assistant just kept gushing over how cute she is. Among the things they called her are:

A stuffed toy
A little lamb
A teddy bear

Among the things she was not called:

A poodle

After the appointment we went to Petsmart and got a new family member - a hermit crab! I used to have two, Hernan Cortes and Ponce de Leon, but Ponce died a few weeks ago So today I went and got a new one. His name is Quetzalcoatl.


Because it's very hard to take pictures of hermit crabs, here he is crawling around. You can't really make him out but trust me when I say he's adorable:
