Re: Family Ties
I'm alive too - but at this point I think Alex has departed your company. Currently debating if I want to get another thread going for my lonely misadventures.

Re: Family Ties - Welcome (Back) to Marn
Alexandros' hand hovered protectively off to the little fox's inside, in the case that the boy might fall. It wouldn't do - they all had enough mud on them already. It hung there, outstretched and ready but just behind Kitan so that he might not notice it. Even children did not enjoy being treated ...

Re: Family Ties - Welcome (Back) to Marn
It had been hard going at the start. There had been times, Alexandros knew, that he had been as like to slip the saddle as not. Kitan's presence gave him strength though. The boy was sitting right infront of him, relying on him, and Dragesus would not fail him. The guard's head grew light, dancing ...

Re: Family Ties
Post is up. It's a bit shorter and more basic than I usually like, but I'm back in the swing of things at the least.
Would you guys like to skip ahead to Marn? Or would you like to play out the rest of the trip? I don't think it should be all that long. A few hours maybe?
Thank you, by the way ...

Re: Family Ties - A Walk In The Woods
"Dumb? No," Alexandros assured the shifter with a smile made of determination "Your trick earlier, at the cabin, was very clever. Someone dumb couldn't have done that." The guard helped his little fox friend with his boot, if he needed it, then directed him to Leto.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
So do I! I'm thawing out some Gambels and Scaled Quail right now to eat tomorrow for dinner!
Good to meet you Amelia. I work in and study wildlife ecology; I've had the good fortune to learn from and later work with many great vets. Best of luck to you in your studies.

Re: Family Ties
No worries. I wasn't trying to suggest you weren't right to ask - you absolutely were.
I do feel bad that you all had to wait and I can promise I'll try to keep up as best I can. Though, I will throw out a word of caution: there will be stints where I can't get to the internet for several days at a ...

Re: Family Ties - A Walk In The Woods
"Good," Alexandros replied through his cold metal mask "I should not have doubted as much." The guard's gauntlets, clean of the blood they'd spilt moments before, left her shoulders. He hung there for a moment - whether it was due to a sense of things left unsaid, or weakness of the body and ...

Re: Family Ties
Kitan - sorry I didn't get to you in this latest post. During the next round Alexandros is going to bring Kitan up to ride on his horse with him. That way atleast he can feel he has Alexandros between him, Lurus, and the rest of their hard luck world tonight.
Also, if Alexandros passes out from ...

Re: Family Ties - A Walk In The Woods
Alexandros' eyebrows climbed his ashen face suddenly in shock as the last bandit left standing cried out in pain, grasping for the tomahawk wedged in his back. The thug stumbled forward a few desperate steps, mouth wide in gasping screams, before he lost his balance and fell face-first into the ...

Ball is in your court, Morveya. I'll let you decide if our last bandit makes a valiant (I guess?) last stand or tries to get out with his hide intact.

Re: Family Ties - A Walk In The Woods
Kitan's scream wrenched Alexandros' attentions from the battle at hand. It was just a short break in his focus, only the time it took him to turn his head, but it was enough. Within that window the thugs' leader had righted himself - he'd come to his feet, shook off the pain, and bullrushed ...

Re: Family Ties
Good idea Kitan! I ran with the idea of that lead bandit being a bit more than just a thug.
It might, as you've said, prevent Alexandros from drawing the conclusion that they'd dealt with their cannibal.
