(22:17:48) Luca_Abernathy: Thus the heavy-handed approach by the 3rd party antagonists
(22:18:05) Saruna: something that might result in fiscal damages or the duchy or city seizing property of some kind?
(22:18:12) Saruna: if it's discovered
(22:18:26) Luca_Abernathy: A contract which, if achieved, would have infringed on someone else's turf?
(22:19:01) Luca_Abernathy: Let's say a business transaction is a cover for some kind of smuggling operation
(22:19:20) Saruna: so by turf, are we talking a market that someone else has a stranglehold on?
(22:19:25) Luca_Abernathy: And this one merchant wanted access to a bigger pie, so struck a deal with a competitor to his current 'agents'
(22:19:38) Luca_Abernathy: Think criminal enterprise
(22:19:57) Saruna: you mentioned smuggling, so I was thinking incoming or outgoing goods
(22:20:09) Luca_Abernathy: Yeah
(22:21:25) Luca_Abernathy: So, current thought diagram:
Merchant Deadman was working with Smuggler A, but didn't like the profit margin. He decides to cut a deal with Smuggler B, who is a competitor of Smuggler A. That's the Contract in 2 Parts.
(22:25:10) Luca_Abernathy: Now, the tricksy part is this: I don't want Smuggler A responsible for Merchant Deadman's death. I want this to be a complete surprise to them because potential plot twists. Instead, I'd like the Antagonist to be someone who wants to fuck over Smuggler B, because they have something to lose from them gaining more market share in smuggling circles

(08:46:30) Saruna: the area where goods go while they wait for inspection, or whatever, you know?
(08:46:39) Saruna: or shipments are stored before they get moved

(08:47:13) Luca_Abernathy: Cool. We can assume the client was going to jump right on a boat the moment he got his documents

(08:47:35) Luca_Abernathy: Shall we start the chase scene inside a big warehouse filled with crates and whatnot?
(08:47:41) Saruna: yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees
(08:50:27) Luca_Abernathy: Also, we decided on 4 ambiguous pursuers. I want one to be a shifter of some kind (who I have a funny idea for how they end up going down) and three fit and agile cut-throats, but that's as far as I've got. I was thinking we'd split the descriptions of the pursuers, take on two each for a bit of NPC fun. (Especially when Zi and Ximeno decide to split ways temporarily to try and throw them off before re-joining paths a few posts further along)
