I spoke with Colors more after you two left. If we could set this during summer, she would prefer it because during the summer the basilard would be unable to resurrect Kala's sister and she'd rather not have that happen quite yet. If we want it to be pre-bombings and do not want resurrection to be possible, we'll need to set this last year. (The cell has been around that long, right?)
Also, since the basilard isn't really going to just happen to be doing some thought monitoring, I'll remain inactive until Quenta contacts Baz, either through telepathy or other means.
This is gonna be good.

I would just like to add that Mik also needs a friend.

Oh, wait. I thought we'd decided that we'd already been eyeballing Mik as a potential bearer and we had stashed Baz in the eaves of the house or something. No?

I... don't recall anything nearly that specific from our conversation. I had been operating as if Quenta had been left to his own devices as far as finding the wielder, and that this was to be the last of his efforts before finally deciding upon Miklos and introducing him to Baz.
The scenario you are proposing has (I assume) Quenta keeping Baz a bit more informed than my own assumptions. I can say that Baz would not enjoy taking the flight to Miklos' house, since a Raven carrying a knife down from the sky to enter somebody's house is super sketchy in Marn, (It's glow is noticeable in the dark, so even at night...) and probably risks discovery of them both, especially if it turns out Miklos doesn't like magic. Baz would likely prefer, if left to its own devices, to be carried out of the church by a willing human being.
That said, the basilard is not being left to its own devices. It has no real agency and is exceptionally passive/used to relying on other people. This means two things:
1. In your scenario, it will trust Quenta to fly it to the house if Quenta thinks he can do it
2. In my scenario, it would trust Quenta's word that he had found a good wielder
So the decision of the basilard's current location is ultimately up to Quenta. Here are our options.
1. If your scenario is the case, Quenta decided to overrule Baz's mild argument for caution and grant Baz limited experience with Miklos before it chose Miklos as the wielder.
- Baz is at Miklos' house right now.
- I do wonder why we're contacting Miklos outside his house if the Basilard is already there. I also wonder how none of Miklos' birds or Miklos noticed the faint glowing on the ceiling at night, though I suppose there are various ways that could be justified.
2. In my scenario, Quenta listened to Baz's words of caution and made the choice of Miklos as wielder for Baz.
- Baz is at the church right now.
- Quenta will lead Miklos into the church to retrieve Baz.
Either way, Baz will be completely fine with the outcome and harbor absolutely no ill will towards Quenta for either deciding against it or not allowing it a personally informed choice. Also in either scenario, Baz has no way of knowing where exactly Quenta is or whether or not Quenta is near Miklos (unless we are right outside Mik's house right now and in your scenario, which I'm pretty sure isn't the case. Quenta and Mik are at a park or something) and so still will have nothing to contribute to the immediate scene.

We should probably determine: did Quenta ever tell the Basilard more about Kaledin manor and Belatucadrus? It probably won't come up, but I could see the circumstance arising where the basilard would divulge the information to the rebellion to prove its use.

I'm not sure. The Bela thing is a pretty traumatic experience when getting turned into a Battle Mage.
Baz may have picked it up from dream/nightmares, though?
Please feel free to have a bit of Baz and Mik interaction.

Baz can't pick up anything more than what Quenta sends him; it's purely telepathy, not empathy. Baz has no clue what the other person is feeling.
Even if Baz could read nightmares, it still wouldn't apply: Quenta's dreams have been overwritten with raven-themed nightmares because he touched the basilard.
