Hee, good thread idea. Actually, we just had a massive estate donated from this little old lady, part of which involve a lot of old items. I was thinking of posting pics here, since I know some of you are history buffs. Have a bible from mid 1800s, and a gold cross from mid 1700s, along with two signed personal letters from Linden B Johnson and Harry Truman and a coupe coins from the 1890s. US silver coins of every kind, many other coins from different countries (lol old 1920s Canadian pennies), some of which I'm not sure where the heck they're from (does Eire ring a bell for any of you?). And some old war memorabilia (WW2) and stuff. They're not my memories, but obviously they were good memories for this woman's family (which, sadly, ended with her).

Yup! Eire is Ireland. They no longer use those coins, either, as they are now part of the EU. A pity really. I loved the Irish coins and have tons of them still. Especially liked that they used different animals from Celtic myths. The salmon, the hind, and the harp were all featured on the Irish coins.

I'd give you the entire background but that'd take too long. We're k=just gonna keep at: The brothers are half brother only, we all share the same Dad. I love this pic, it brings me back to every family reunion I've had with them all... and I love it!
