after much conversation with other characters i believe that this character is to powerful and or not ready to be played yet, i will make a different application, sorry for the wasted time.

Race: Half Elven, half Astral Being
Physical Description:
Eyes: Glowing White (they literally emit very small amounts of light, hardly visible in the dark, somehow more noticeable in the daylight.
Hair: long and white, in thousands of tiny braids
Skin:bright white(im talking 'white-out' white) silver in patches, most prominently his hands and one large mark around his left eye.
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 160 lbs.
Usually dressed in a black and white mottled traveling cloak, Aryth sports a leather jerkin and green wool breaches while wearing a pair of long black boots. His face is kind and usually gentle, although potent fury has at times darkened his countenance. The long, shining white hair hangs to the left and right of his face, as well as down his back all the way to his waist. To see him walk is like a dance, holding himself erect with a sense of certainty and dignity. He wears no sword, but a long slightly curving staff with a smooth, clear stone crafted into the staffs topmost point.

Strengths:
Enchanter.
as an enchanter Aryth shies away from physical combat, preferring strategy and cunning. his enchanting abilities are more than just illusions and sometimes under extreme concentration can become material, physical manifestations. (illusion of a tree becomes a tree, but that would be at the far end of the scale. something more realistic would be for him to conjure the illusion of a wolf howling somewhere out of site, but close by to scare his entended target) aryth is not skilled enough(nor will he ever be skilled enough) to take control of any sentient creature. no giant monsters, mainly just man-sized illusions or the occasional conjuring of a root to trip someone who is chasing him.
Empathy.
as an enchanter this skill is almost required to become adept in the art of skillful illusion. empathy is the talent to feel and in Aryths case slightly alter the general intent of a persons emotions.
Gramyrie
Aryths skills at gramyrie are still at the apprentice level and cannot manage without physical aid, such as his staff. also using gramyrie, requires total immobility(cant fight or defend while casting. abilities include talking to higher animals, canines, felines rodents, and avian species.
teleport, can be used once a day for himself or multiple times during the day for other people as long as the provide the energy necessary.
side step:
being half astral creature himself he finds he has an aptitude for transferring between realms, although after his fight with his father, every time he side-steps(either to the astral plane or to the material plane) he loses one of his five senses, until he sidesteps again, then he regains that sense and re-loses one of his five senses. on occasion he loses the same sense multiple times in a row. aryth must wait at least six hours before side stepping again, to recover lost energy and constitution.
Weaknesses:
Physically weak, like a fifty to sixty year old man. aside from being the runt of the litter when he was born, he is also really old. unless he is inspired by Gramyrie, he usually keeps his pace to a walk, maybe a very slow paced trot. horse riding tires him quickly. prone to seizures when struck over the head.
Cant see well during the day due to light sensitivity. cannot cast any type of Gramyrie without his staff.
Absolutely terrified of heights. cant swim.
Aryth is moderately to severely Schizophrenic, suffering from attacks of anti-social behavior, physically debilitating headaches, and extremely violent paranoia.
he is also a heavy bleeder, meaning it is hard to stuanch the flow of blood once he is moderately wounded.
History:
Aryths mother was an incredibly beautiful Elf, so much so that a creature from the astral plain crossed over to the material plain just be with her. That creatures name is Gyarin, a vastly powerful being of the astral plane. after falling in love with Aryths mother, Hulithian, he squeezed just enough power and essence into the mind/body of a field worker elf. The two immediately joined their lives together and had numerous children, some of which have been great craftsmen of their time, some became great thinkers, a few chose their fathers original home of the astral plane and were never heard of since.
One child in particular came at the very end of Hulithians life, Aryth. Hulithian, at the age of over 290 years, died in the second hour of labor giving birth to Aryth. Gyarin revolted at the death of Hulithian, and in his grief his hold over the elf slipped and his power faded. at the time of his capture the elf had been middle aged at about 180. now the elf was 400 years old and the snap-back effect destroyed the elf's mind, killing him. Aryth, now an orphan, was delivered to a librarian couple who wanted a child, and grew to the age of fifty or so, educating himself while in their care. After a time, the couple decided to go adventuring in their old age, before they ended their life together, as is the case with very old coupled elves.
Aryth heard from his adopted parents once before they died and it was a short note: 'We love you and will always love you. if you need anything when we are gone, we know you can find it on your own, be brave. And when he comes for you, dont fight or he will kill you.'
Aryth was nearing his thirtieth birthday when he felt a pulling sensation, pulling from everywhere at once. then suddenly he was gone.
he awoke in the astral plane imprisoned by his father. his father blamed him for Hulithians death and tortured him day and night with all sorts of different magic. he kept him there for 150 years. at times he would have his sons, Aryths brothers, perform the physical tortures instead. he would brag about how strong all his REAL children were and how Aryth was so weak. it was true, Aryth held no talent with a sword. But Gramyrie... Magic, was his friend, sometimes when he was under a particularly strenuous torture he would slip out of his own mind and visit a very strange place. In this place huge buildings rose into the sky, and metal birds flew far overhead. in this strange place people wore even stranger clothing.
After returning from a trip to this other world, he found himself to be much stronger than usual, and after subsequent trips it appeared that he was becoming stronger. Aryth figured that while he was 'away', the natural currants of magic were revitalizing and healing his broken body. Eventually he was stronger than the day that his father had snatched him up. Taking advantage of the gain in power that the astral realm gave him he conjured up a storm of dark energy and killed one of his brothers while escaping. As he escaped he ripped his fathers cloak from his shoulders, for he knew it to be a powerful item for magical concealment, as well as being useful for storing vast quantities of items in the pockets.
Its been about one hundred years since he escaped his fathers fortress in the astral plane, and he is seeking out the brothers who tortured him and destroying them. When he finishes with that task he will more them likely try to kill his father.
Personality:
Aryth is usually very kind, given more to magnanimity than maliciousness. When he experiences strong emotions, such as hatred, ecstasy, or nostalgia he finds himself charged with the ebb and flow of what he thinks of as 'deep magic', a magic more willful than the caster. Magic that uses the caster more as a vent than a master. When otherwise not engulfed in deep emotions and 'deep magic' his touch with magic is still quite respectable. Fireballs have found quite a few of Aryths enemies.
Aryth can sometimes be very withdrawn, sometimes even downright crotchety. usually this behavior is the result of exhaustion from extensive magical research. but for the most part, on an average day, if you were to accidentally bump into him at the market, he would be first apologize and then ask how your day is going. he is also a collector of small objects, buttons, knives, even some rocks grace his collection.
Goals:
His number one goal in life is to inflict as much pain on his father as possible. other goals include the complete eradication of all of Gyarins children who pose a threat to the happiness others may find for themselves, criminals and such. the other children, his siblings i should say, he wishes to find and learn of his mother.
One of his great wishes is that the government would lift the ban on magic so he can practice in the open and without deceit.
but after all this nonsense of violence and destruction is completed, he wishes more than anything to find the final resting place of his mother.
special abilities include:
languages spoken (read/writing) : Eyropian, druidic, dwarvish, elvish.
elvish intuition: heightened senses regarding his own safety
Thought casting: i understand that this would appear to be a pretty powerful ability.
but remember that this elf has almost no physical prowess. left without magic and a long sharp stick it is likely he could be beaten to death by a ten year old. these kinds of conditions breed extraordinary mental faculties in dealing with casting spells. and also it would be expected that at his age he should have a couple of tricks up his sleeve like this. after all who would expect a rough looking, haggard old elf sitting in the corner nursing his beer and gazing out the window with a dazed expression on his face, would be casting a lightening storm. its not likely that aryth would do that but you understand my meaning right?
i think this sums up my application, thanks for looking at it. if there is a problem with my app that we cant work out i will change it to suit the environment better, after all, i am here to make good posts, not to god mode or auto anyone.
