Open to: Anyone - we can discuss an entrance in this thread
Posting Speed: Not an issue
Characters: Currently "Orban Sol" and "Tampa Laurca"
Location: No location yet - will most likely begin at Orban's Apothecary (no thread yet

) in the "Downtown Business District"
Plot and Details: I'll update this once we actually get a plot going

For now, I'll just start by throwing some ideas around and maybe posting some background or 'day to day' activities.

I thought I'd put out that I have characters that are currently AWOL, and that I'm willing to bring one of them out. Asiona is probably the best choice as she is currently plagued with an angel's curse, so she would be running around trying to get rid of it or at least ease the pain, which would mean she would probably go to an apothecary that has experience with "supernatural" things. I have plans for her, and this would just delay the inevitable, but Asiona would try every avenue available before going psycho and just killing the demon (yeah, she has a summoned demon with her). Her profile is here:
http://www.tharshaddin.com/rp/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=117, which I might want to update before I bring her back.
I do tend to post a little slow, and I won't mind if you tell me that I can't join because of that. I try to post within a week, but it really depends on how busy I am, so it isn't consistent.

My ideas for the plot (I'm not expecting to actually use some of these, their just random ideas that I have):
I get injured somehow (Caught up in fight - maybe something to do with Orban and the assassins, something collapses, something to do with lack of sleep, etc) and go to the apothecary to get healed, but of course I have no money...or someone recommends I visit Orban's apothecary.
I find something dropped by Orban on the street (with his address on it, naturally) and go to return it to him.
Being relatively poor, I wander through the city trying to find a job. Since I've got knowledge of herbs and plants already, I would naturally try to find one in an apothecary or some other place dealing with plants.
Maybe something about the building attracts me... Or maybe my ring does. Perhaps the building or something/someone has some sort of significance in my history?
...They're the most relevant ideas that I can think of. Of course, I'm open to more suggestions.

Maeve, a character like that would fit nicely as if Asiona is seeking Orban's help, but does not always need it, there is no need for frequent posting

At the moment after some discussion with Tampa it looks like I will be writing him into being accepted as staff at the Apothecary, which means there is plenty of time to sent him flying off in search of reagents that would be needed to make perhaps a specific potion that Asiona may need.
Let us know when she's 'ready'

and we'll go from there - there's no rush as Tampa and I are still working 'behind the scenes' on fleshing out a rough plot for how our characters meet lol

Alright... In the meantime, I'll rework her profile.
We can make this as complicated or simple as you guys want... She was cursed by an angel so keep that in mind when you try to concoct a cure for her.

I would love to join you. Maybe Talion could work for Orban in exchange for some help with growing the highly addictive magical herb that he constantly smokes. He has a small amount on him and could agree to give Orban the seeds if he could insure that there would be a constant supply of the drug.

It'd be a pleasure to have you Talion, but I don't know about more staff for now

Orban
is in exile and is pursued by assassins at every turn, so he's naturally suspicious of any new characters. He also has three servants/bodyguards who function as his staff as well, although they're not very proficient. This was actually one of the problems that I've been discussing with my bro Tampa, because he had originally thought it would be best to be staff so that we could write together, but it would be implausible for Orban to just accept someone without them doing something drastic like saving his life first.
Of course, this is not to say we couldn't write Tampa and yourself joining in to save Orban from an attempt on his life...

that could work. Not sure how Talion would go about saving someones life, seeing as how he is a cripple who heavily does drugs and has a mental illness. Maybe he could beat the attacker with his walking staff. We'll figure something out.

FYI guys I call Maeve's typist "Ice" because it was an old character of hers.
Ice, if you want Asiona's profile moved so you can edit it up, or want it made active again, just ask.
I don't need to remind you that Asiona has Saldrin's book, I hope? For the uninitiated, about 2 years ago the city guard raided a gathering of the city's illegal underground mages guild. Camulous, the captain of the guard, led the assault personally and didn't want any death, but things went awry and the leader of the mages guild, a man named Saldrin Brinlli, was killed. Saldrin was a well known and well liked old man, a lot of citizens thought his death was the city's fault.
Before Saldrin died, he tossed Asiona a journal of his accumulated knowledge.
Just tossing that up there as a possible avenue, ice. If the city caught wind that she had it, they'd go hunting for her head and anyone she's friends with.

Talion doesn't have to fight to protect Orban. Maybe he somehow can influence one of the assassins without magic - maybe they know each other, or Talion knows someone related to them, or vice versa. Or maybe the assassin just has a fear of elves... although that would be a bit weird.
As for my character... I suppose he could just kill one of the assassins or identify some kind of poison attempt (although Orban should be able to detect poison by himself anyway) or identify one of the bodyguards as either an imposter or an assassin all along... That could work for Talion too.

I heartily support an alternative solution that doesn't involve magic or cool ninja-like skills. I think it'd be pretty cool to have Talion know the guy and 'interrupt' him. Maybe the assassin isn't really an assassin just some guy who said he'd knock somebody off for a few bishani.

Holy crap on a stick. I completely forgot about all that--especially since the thread was never fully finished. What would be in his book?
I was thinking about it, and right now, I don't really need to edit her profile. Probably when something drastic happens to her situation I will, but that comes later.

I like this idea; as much fun as it would be to hit a guy over the head with the stick Talion uses for a crutch, anything not involving a fight or magic could work.
Talion is a character of mine that I have had for some time and I am importing him over to this game. Yes I know that is being lazy by not creating a new character but I like him. Anyway, I wanted to stick to the preestablished history and such that I have for him, at least as best as I can.
Heres my idea.
Talion has an uncle Kailla, (might make him an npc in the future) who never really fit in with the others from the secluded little village in the woods (same place Talion is from). As a young man he left the village, disregarding the highly religious/superstitious ways of the others. He traveled to Thysaer eindral Maelaesaer (a major city of Darleone Island) in an attempt to make something of himself in the big city. Being a young man with little morals and cash, Kailla soon turned to the petty like of a pickpocket and thief. As the years went by he came to form a sort of group/guild/brotherhood of pickpockets, thieves, mercenaries and assassins. The members can be identified by a tattoo of an eclipse with two daggers crossed over it on the back of their left hand.
How about if your attacker were a member of Kailla's group and Talion can use his family connection to Kailla to convince the attacker to find a new target to kill for cash.

Talion,
You mean an elf-gang? Well, huh, yeah I guess there'd be some of those wouldn't there?
