History: Kalila is the daughter of the fae princess Galatea and the son of an elven diplomat, Rayne. Her fathers parents were against this union, so he ran away with Galatea and got married. Around a year later Galatea became pregnant. Word soon reached Rayne's parents and they realized that if people found out of this union and child they would be the disgrace of the family, they sent out an assassin to kill Rayne, Galatea, and their unborn child, not knowing that this task would take several years to complete.
Kalila was raised by her parents in the forest far out side the town of shim. One day when she was three, while her parents and baby sister were sleeping she left early to gather herbs to make tea. When she returned her father and baby sister were dead, and her mother was dying. Before she died Galatea made Kalila promise her that when she turned sixteen she would leave the forest and head east to find her grandfather, Silareth king of the fae.
Four days later Kalila was found wandering and pulling a wagon with her things by Dala, a madicine woman who lives just out side of Shim. Dala took Kalila in and raised her, teaching her the ways of medicine and healing. she grew and learned all that Dala had to teach. When Kalila was twelve years Dala lost her sight due to a curse set by an angry fae woman, and she became the medicine woman in place of Dala.
At age thirteen she brought a ten year old orphaned girl named Mila from shim to Dala, she asked Dala to train Mila so that she may one day become the medicine woman. That day came sooner then any of them thought. Two years later on the eve of her sixteenth birthday she had a dream reminding of her promise to her mother. The next morning she informed Dala and Mila that she would leave and go east to find her grandfather. Then that night she began her journey to find her family.
