Yes, but it is his unending hope that he goes unremarked upon and forgotten. It is undoubtedly a hope he holds in vain, but Guile's presence makes him especially nervous. He does not like anyone powerful knowing his name, as it means he is more likely to be held accountable for something. He is not well suited to politics.

Plus every time he sees Metarie he is forced to consider her as both person and woman. He is uncomfortable with the thought that a woman might be able to be both capable and without deceit, but his adoration of the Captain forces him to confront the idea that it is possible.

Nope, I'm going to write it tonight. For some reason I thought I was still waiting on someone (and this is after saying as long as the person I'm writing behind didn't change--and she didn't--but somehow I got gobsmacked). Been a bit of a nasty week for me, but for sure my post (and the one for Kori) will be the first thing I do when I get home.
