Let's see... 2007
Sonic the Hedgehog (Gotta go faster, faster, faster!)

2008
Mummy Zombie

2009
Shadow the Hedgehog. Was quite pleased with the shoes for that one.
This year he wants to be Tails, but I didn't have the money for all the fabric. We went with Knuckles instead.
Will post pictures once it's finished

I can't wait to see Alley in his costume.
Also, wtf are those weapons? They look too short to be swords. Yayyy for costumes!
Twin blades are generally shorter than regular blades, no? If not they're actually about the right length for Fay's blades, I was hay with how accurate they were

Did you make those costumes Ree? If so, wow, those are really good. I'm jealous, your costume making skills far surpass mine.
Here's my pumpkin. Sorry for the crappy picture but it was the best I could get. You can't see the two trees, the bats or the spider in the web, but they are there. And, it only took me five hours of carving time.

My confusion was birthed from my mistaken assumption that swords and daggers were different by length. . .but some quick searches show it's also a matter of use, as some forms of daggers have a blade 24-30in in length. Wow, I should have researched this years ago. D:

I think your pumpkin is FANTASTIC! Wish I could do as well with those.
Yes, I did, but I did take the easy route for the most part. The hats are bought from Amazon. The body is a body suit. Kids white gloves for the hands. I just added stuff to it to make it Sonic/Shadow/Mummy. For Sonic, I had to buy blue fabric and make the hedgehog spikes for his back and tan fabric for the stomach. Red hightops finished it.
Shadow was easier and harder in some ways. Shadow hat, gloves, and body suit are store bought. I used red adhesive felt for the legs and arm markings. What's missing is I had put fuzzy white fabric on the chest for Shadow's chest fur. After much wearing before Halloween, it came off! The shoes were the most work. I had to use foam, felt, elastic, and velcro to make them.
The mummy was way, way easy. A sand colored body suit covered in rolls of gauze stuck on with adhesive spray. A little white hair color and some make up and he was very happy with the result. Easiest one so far.
The Knuckles costume is pretty darn easy, too. Some red fabric dye, store bought Knuckles hat and gloves, red felt, some duct tape (yes.. duct tape) white felt, and some lime green fabric dye and we're good to go. Photo soon.
I also managed to make the Tails costume. Similar approach, dyed a white body suit (used too much red.. grr) yellow-orange, yellow fabric, quilt stuffing, and white felt should do it. Photos soon on that one, too.

Zina -- totally cute costume! Looking forward to the pic with the makeup included.
Thanks, Amm.
The boyo decided to go with Tails this year. Will get him to dress up as Knuckles and post soon.
Oh, and my little Morgan le Fay
Once she figured out people put CANDY in the pumpkin, she took her brother's bucket, too!
