I AM THE HERALD OF GOOD NEWS!

Matthew comes home today. I haven't kept up with this much, so here's a brief summary of what went on between the last post and now.

Gradually he became able to breathe for himself; A few weeks ago Joanne held him for the first time. All the lines save his milk feed came out then, the milk feed line came out after he was transferred back to the hospital he was born in, Ormskirk.

Then they took him to Alder Hey because he has a hole in his heart, and they needed to do tests and stuff. They also wanted to test his liver to see if it was too close to his kidneys, which would explain the perpetual jaundice.

And now he comes home tomorrow, as healthy as if nothing ever happened, save the hole in his heart still. YaY!

I'm so glad that this story ended in great news. A hole in the heart is terrible, but nothing so uncommon that it cannot be treated. His life is destined for great things, I'm almost certain of it. This little man has struggled more in the short months of his life than I have in all of my 20 years.

Wahoo! For good news!

Indeed. None of us can quite believe it.

Going down to see them for the first time tomorrow.
