He walked up to the Madame. Fine, if that's the way she wanted it, that's the way she could have it. Devon had been her little plaything in her situations, and she now threw him away as such.

"Alright I appreciate your money. It'll serve me well."

He reached out and grabbed the sack and turned away. He was tired of this. First he blew up his town, and even the people inside didn't know what was happening. Then he met some wierd elf in the woods on his way here that accused him of being a illegal magic user and feared him because he was human. Devon wasn't altogether human, and she still hated him for no reason. Now this, he had found a place that he felt he belonged to. A brotherhood of sorts, where one could come and be accepted. This woman had set up all of that, she was the reason that this all came to be.

Now, she was leaving them. She was their leader, by choice or not, she was who all would obey. She was who all would serve, in return for the haven. Now, she was turning them to the street. She was afraid. She was afraid of what the battlemage would say. She was a spineless coward who his behind her artifacts and powers and held no strength of her own.

To him, she was the lowest form of life.

It was a lesson to Devon though. When someone had a lot to offer, there was a lot to lose as well. If Devon held any hope before hand, as to finding a life, finding himself. It was almost gone now. Someone who offered a way of life, a way to thrive in this crazy messed up life, she had ditched him. Not only left him though, but the others.

She had left them all, wondering, festering in their own disbelief. Some might even call the feeling anger, even hatred for what she had done.
