I'm not white, but I look white, so I'm what's called "passing." I'm like...undercover colored girl. Yeah I said it.

My parents are both Puerto Rican, which makes me 100% Puerto Rican. Our ancestry can't be traced back more than two or three generations - like, it literally becomes impossible to trace. Hence we're just one label.

I'm white and have Irish/Welsh ancestry. Apparently, my surname is part Belgian in origin. :?:

Oh wow, I totally forgot Jess is colored too. SORREE JESS! Silly me. Also, I thought people only call ourselves mutts if we are mixed colors? Although I guess a distinction between, say, Irish and Scottish is important if you're really looking for your roots . . .
Fun fact: China has 56 recorded native ethnic groups, 55 of which are considered minorities! Of course, some of these groups kind of resent being called Chinese minorities, like the Taiwanese minority. Most Chinese, when they identify with an ethnic group, disregard other genetic input and just identify the group their father identifies with. The kid may only be a quarter Naxi, but if the dad's dad was Naxi, then the kid claims only that ethnic group. Easy, huh? (Not Nazi. Those are from Germany)

Not much difference between the Scots and the Irish... my problem is at family gatherings I have to tune my hearing for both accents AT THE SAME TIME. My fathers mother and my mothers mother were the immigrants, hence most of my cousins being Scots and Irish. :|

Jess, I guess knowing that you are Puerto Rican explains why Jenica is always so pissed at the world with her "attitude"! I had a roomate (one of my best friends) who is from PR. I speak English and can understand a fair amount of Spanish and after four years I still could only understand about everyother word that dude said. Man, those were some good times.

So, Ami is Texan. Does that mean that Jenica picked her up by her MASSIVE lone star state belt buckle? You never told us you wore spurs. FTW indeed.

For the record I am about as American as you can get without being a native. My family came over from England in the 1600s. I'm about 75% English with a smattering of Irish, Scottish, and......yes, even a little French.

Pagusel, I live in Seattle. I meant the Canadian girls to the north. It seems like every Canadian girl I meet is hot. Funny, when I lived in California I thought every hispanic girl I met was hot. Maybe the grass is just greener on the other side of the borders.

Amy isn't Texan. Lydia is. :P

And oh, how I love a stereotype. I've never seen anyone in spurs (I live in the SUBURBS), and I'd have trouble standing up in a giant belt buckle, seeing as it'd probably weigh almost as much as me.

Nor do I own a cowboy hat.

Or work boots.

Also, I would look silly on a horse.

I do, however, have a heavy twang and a tendecy to sprinkle my phrases with "y'all"'s.

Well, I don't have spurs or a large belt buckle, or much of any accent. I have heard I have absolutely no accent, or slightly texan. It depends on who you ask.

I do have 3 or so Cowboy hats...use to wear them all the time, now they are just a collection I can't stand to loose. I do have a small belt buckle with a horse and foal on it, but again its small.

Oh, I got cowboy boots also.

HA! Cody is a Texan even if not admitted.

Okay. Okay. Ami is not Texan. But see now I'm fixated on the fact that you are Southern. So every time I read a post from you, I will probably give Ami a good little southern drawl. I just wont be able to help it. In the same way Jenica will start to take on some Puerto Rican qualities when I read what she does next. Weird, I know, but just the way my brain works. I'm special like that.

According to Jess, I'm not Southern. I'm south, but not from The South...or something. :P

But I do have a cute drawly thing goin' on.
