me: Okay, so maybe the Sceptre is part of ritual paraphernalia to insert the spirit of Asari into a host, and there are people who want to see that happen? And maybe Evren is all about strapping Giacomo down on an alter and making a big bad out of him. And he would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for that meddling Djinn

me: So, I'm thinking Evren disappears for a bit. And he's got like this tattoo hidden on him marking him as one of Asari's chosen (which is why the Nehkhpera didn't get him in the big battle)
me: And he heads off to where his cult's secret knowledge shows the sceptre to be, to prepare a trap. Except Tagi will be able to smell his scent when she scouts there, and has a chance to spring the trap in a more favourable way
But, Giacomo gets grabbed by bugs, Evren gets the ritual done, and it's time for a showdown with a still-weak Big bad
I wonder what scorched rhino hide smells like

(09:17:37) Saguzar: Kat, had a cool idea for how some of them actually survive! (And by some I mean Sertor, Tagi, Fariq, and Ramon)
(09:21:03) Saguzar: So, after the big showdown in ritual room with bugs, Cultist Evren, and spooky big bad made out of Giacomo, they figure out that the beetles focus their attention on whoever has the sceptre. So, Tagi being the sneaky bitch she is, makes off at high speed with the thing, drawing away the bulk of the attention, while Sertor and Co fight their way back the way they came, but against lesser numbers.

Eventually they get topside, fight through, and Fariq wakes up, tosses Omar off Sertor's shoulder to distract the pursuing Nehkhepera, and they escape into the bright hot desert where Sertor sniffs out Tagi (or vice versa) and they all get paid

So, I've taken my post right up to the moment the ritual has ended, and left it open for Tagi to do something horribly violent to that bossy bastard Evren who'd given her so much hassle prior to now

Also, I have this idea that the presence of Asari's spirit will actually keep the Nehkhepera swarm from entering the room - kind of an instinctive awe for the presence of their creator as it were - something else Evren didn't plan on. I've left all that open though to hopefully give you as much freedom as possible to go nuts with your post

If you need me to tweak/change/remove/elaborate on any part of the post please let me know!

Currently the idea is that while Giacomo's body will get possessed by the spirit of Asari, Evren won't get the chance to do all the follow-up rituals required to allow Asari to fully manifest in the physical plane through the possession of Giacomo.

So one thing which made me ask is that Tagi will be able to smell traces of Evren and blood before they can see what's in the room. Any reactions to that I should take into account?

Nope, I loved the direction you went. Now, feel free to have a bit more fun =D

I have decided, that since the sceptor is woefully unaccounted for, and no one cared how it felt, that given what it took from Giacomo it has been able to reinstate itself in Evren's body, and shall thereafter wander the world as a living artifact.

Plus I thought it might be cool to revisit that sometime. ;D
