Hello, Vinter here. Figured i'd hop in and test the waters (so to speak) with some free form roleplay. It looks like a nice setting, and I just posted a character, but thought I should introduce myself too. I'm not new to roleplay, but my free form experience is lacking so be gentle.
Anyway, I suppose I'm looking to hop in ASAP, if there is any way someone could recommend me... jumping in... once my character goes through approval.

Hello. I go by Rhiea and that will probably be my first character's name. When I get her finally fleshed out and born. It's a long painful process at the moment since I'm sort of a perfectionist and I want her to fit in with canon and whatnot.
Anyway, a little about me. I'm known to Darrik and Kat and was invited to join by Darrik. I'm glad he did (I'm going to braid your beard for you and put some lovely ribbons in it as a present). I've read through some of the threads and I am quite impressed and amazed at the talent shown here. It gives me performance anxiety. That's not quite what I wanted you all to know, however. I have three children whom I will gush about at a later date. I'm married. I live in the US, central time zone. I hope that helps.
I enjoy writing but don't get enough time to do it which is why I'm happy to join a play-by-post forum. If I ever get this character off the ground I do hope I'll be forgiven if it takes a bit of time for me to reply. Having the above mentioned children plus working makes for a busy me.
I suppose that's about it at the moment. If anyone has any questions I'll be happy to answer them. Oh. One more thing before I submit this post: I have a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor. I don't intentionally go about trying to insult or offend people but if I do, please tell me. Sometimes the filter between brain and fingers gets really thin and I hit enter before really thinking about it.
In conclusion; happy rping and I look forward to getting to know more people!

A leetle bit late but I wanted to say welcome to the both of you for a second time. Eh heh.
We've got a pretty wide range of player responsibilities here -- you've got people who can post nearly daily, and those who need a week or two to respond. So long as you're upfront about how often you can respond everyone is very understanding.
Nah, don't be intimidated! Thar is a great place to play with your writing style and learn from the style of others. Stick around and I bet you'll see your writing improving as time passes (I sure know I have!).

There is indeed activity! People are most verbose in chat during daytime north american continent times (though sometimes it can be quiet in there even if a lot of people are on; people are usually multi-tasking and just chillin') if you want to come in tomorrow to talk character sheets or setting or whatnot. Questions are always welcomed! And, of course, welcome to Thar. 
ps - just noticed your character name. . .if you happen to be european we do have a few european and australian players, but it's mostly north american. So if you don't see people on around your normal times, fear not -- likely times just aren't matching up.

I just feel as if a North American "type" name wouldn't be suitable for a fantasy role-play - Haha! I'm from Nova Scotia though so it's good to know most people are an hour behind/ahead of me for times!

Hey, names Cygnus, or Akil, whichever of the two you prefer. I've always found rp'ing to be really interesting because the feeling of creating a collective story together with a bunch of people is really amazing. I'm pretty psyched at the moment. Anyways, i'll finish my character up by tonight and have him approved by the tonight/over the weekend if i can. Please to meet you all.

I'm going to second Kat in saying you should always feel free to drop into chat: even if there is nobody currently in there, often times if we see a new person languishing alone in chat, someone will pop in to say hello.
Given the wide range of time zones which members cover, there's often a decent chance of someone doing so.

My name is Lucas. Right now I'm trying to get Korhadris (this character) approved and ready for use. I used to write in a PBP RP for a long time but I've been out of the loop for a bit. But I'm willing to learn and hop in on this one, though the going may be rough.
I've been in chat quite a bit over the past few days and have been receiving lots of help (thanks guys), and I think I'm almost ready to write!

Hi, you guys!! *waves enthusiastically* I'm Annie. I came here last night, and I met some of you through chat...great idea, the chatroom. Yay!!
I'm a true triple whammy...a Geministic bipolar female...but I like to keep myself stable with meds and I live my life the way I need it to go, which means that I'm usually doin' something creative. Hence the reason why I like to RP. I came from Spirits of the Earth originally, but things kinda went wonky because of life happening, but it's all good. Wonky happenings in one RP means I got to come to you guys. Yay? I think so. *nods* I like Thar so far, and I plan on stayin' as long as I'm welcome. I've got a few characters already fleshed out (I'm actually workin' on 'em now) and when I get my internet set up at home I'll be a typical player you can't get rid of. Heh.
I like all things...my taste is pretty eclectic and sporadic...so you might catch me switch personality traits on ya. It's cool, though...I usually warn my friends when that happens. And that, my dear readers, is what's called a disclaimer. I'm pretty goofy most days, but I can get serious and soft when the situation calls for it. I love to play different characters, so I've got my work cut out for me. Back to work I go...
