Re: Lightsword Saga
Either way is fine.
I'm inclined to play him simply to make the scene more dynamic with a second writer, but if you'd prefer to just do it yourself to keep things more streamlined and make it go faster, I don't mind if you use him. He's not a character I'm at all possessive of... though if his marriage to Petra comes up, there's some additional background you should be aware of that hasn't yet made it into a post.
I'll do a post with Uluki and Rollick-- they'll have a couple of basic responses to Julen, though nothing likely to prolong the conversation, and they'll want to say something more to Kaydee. If you want me to play Vernon, I'll post for him separately once Julen finds him. If you want to play him yourself, it's not a problem for me.

If you're fine either way, I'd prefer to have you play Vernon. It'll be more interesting that way. Besides, writing both sides of an argument always feels like cheating.
I'll try to get a post up later tonight. Tomorrow, at the latest.

Re: Lightsword Saga
You have my permission to kick Vernon's ass if desired.
Should you decide to do so, feel free to do some auto-ing. Vernon is bigger than Julen and is relatively strong, but has no combat training at all and moves slowly, so Julen would have no trouble getting and keeping the upper hand.

I'm back!
Shall we assume Kasimir is told that Uluki and Rollick are er, busy
- and maybe Kaydee gives him his info?
By the way, does anyone mind Kasimir joining the Vernon scene? Because his reaction will be rather dramatic, and I don't want to hijack the scene.

Uluki and Rollick won't be busy for very long. By the time... your character... hears the gossip, he'd more than likely find them in a non-compromising position. So if he wants to talk to Uluki and Rollick, you can assume they're available. They'll come back downstairs as soon as they're finished.Shall we assume Kasimir is told that Uluki and Rollick are er, busy- and maybe Kaydee gives him his info?
Rather than Karzomir? If you're still deciding on the name, I'd rather not use it in posts, because it makes going back and editing much more complicated, since I have to figure out which name I'm changing when, rather than just finding every reference to one name.Kasimir
It would be easier for me if you could just tell me when you've settled on a name. Thanks!
I don't mind, but I think it would be best if you let Julen reply to what Vernon has just said to him before you join in, as the response may also be somewhat dramatic.By the way, does anyone mind Kasimir joining the Vernon scene? Another option would be to have your character talk to Uluki and Rollick first to get the scoop and then have him come into the Julen/Vernon scene a little later. Or I could play Vernon separately for you. Whichever, really, I just think Jules ought to post next in the current scene.
I'm totally fine with having your character in the scene, but I want to make sure Julen has a chance to respond fully, since he's already in the middle of it.

Thanks for asking! I would like to post Julen's reaction to what Vernon just said, as I've been looking forward to writing it. But after that, I think it would be a good point for Fred to enter the scene.Railtus Anstrun wrote:By the way, does anyone mind Kasimir joining the Vernon scene? I hope the last line of my post is okay. I can change it if you want, but I thought it would be a good way to let Fred enter the scene.

Re: Lightsword Saga
Jules, I liked that post. A lot. Really the perfect response.
I think it's probably best for Rail to post next if he wants to get into the scene. Vernon will (obviously) have a reaction to what Julen said, but I can double that up with his reacting to the paladin, to avoid sticking a post that doesn't advance the conversation into the middle of things. I can post after Rail.
Uluki and Rollick will eventually need to talk to the paladin, and probably to Vernon too at some point, but I'm going to hold off on that for now. Once said paladin has had a chance to interact with Vernon, I'll probably bring the two of them into the mix as well, if that works for you guys.

I'll be able to post with Fred tomorrow.
I will assume Fred knows about Vernon threatening Rollick's life, because that is pretty important to his reaction...

Re: Lightsword Saga
I think that's pretty safe. Vernon's version of the story will definitely involve Rollick being a danger and needing to be stopped, and probably with the suggestion of stake-burning. I think it's quite reasonable for the paladin to be aware of that.I will assume Fred knows about Vernon threatening Rollick's life, because that is pretty important to his reaction...
If it's appropriate, I'm considering having Uluki and Rollick be there to see how Fred reacts. But that'll depend on your post. If it doesn't make sense, I won't do it.

I hope it's not a problem that Quinn's sticking around and trying to see what's going on. I just couldn't see her leaving while something interesting appeared to be happening.

Re: Lightsword Saga
It's fine with me... I deliberately made room for you to stick around.
And I am sure you will have heard the bellowing.
Irate paladins are scary things.
I expect I'll have the new profile for Fred finished by tonight.

Assume that Julen leaves, unless someone asks him to stay.

I'm not sure how long the current scene will last, though. However Fred reacts is pretty much going to be it for Vernon-- there's really no way he can push it any further. I wanted him to stick to his guns up to this point so Fred gets to hear his version of the story, but if Fred is unimpressed with it, he'll shut up about it.
Rollick will also likely give his side of things to the paladin.
And... then, I'm not sure there'll be a lot more to do. I'm not trying to discourage you from joining the scene, I just don't anticipate it going on very long.

Re: Lightsword Saga
Question: When Karsimir asked Rollick to speak in private with him, is he intending for Uluki to stay behind, or does it not matter to him?
If Karsimir has no preference, Uluki will come along to offer support to Rollick, as she promised to do. Rollick, for his part, generally assumes anything he has to say can be said in front of Uluki, so it wouldn't occur to him to exclude her from the discussion.
But if for some reason Karsimir specifically doesn't want her there, she doesn't have to come.
It just seemed easier to ask OOC than to spend an IC round of posts sorting it out.
