Re: Food for the Soul

Once he confirmed that he was indeed speaking to her, Shyael spent the next few seconds listening behind her for anyone approaching before cutting across the street, though she still stayed a short distance away from the source of the voice. Honestly, she had doubts about any help the monk could ...

Re: Food for the Soul

She slowed but didn't stop at the first call. One of the things she hated most of being unable to see was not knowing when a person was speaking directly to her. Shyael never bothered to respond to any remarks she heard unless she was certain, but either way she was caught in a catch twenty-two ...

Re: Food for the Soul

How in the heck had she ended up in this part of town?

It wasn’t uncommon for Shyael to take a wrong turn somewhere while navigating around Marn - she was blind, after all. But she couldn’t recall ever getting this turned around. When she heard a bell ringing and an unfamiliar voice calling for ...

Re: Performance Night

Shyael had her hand on the door and was just about to head inside when she heard someone fall onto the pavement behind her, and automatically she paused to listen to what was going on. She heard the louder part of the woman's rants, but couldn't quite make out what she said when she dropped her ...

Re: Performance Night

Shyael didn't notice she was being followed. Though it was later in the day, there were still a lot of citizens about in Marn. So her concentration was solely focused on her surroundings to keep from colliding with anything or anyone. That, and she had to keep careful track of where she was walking ...

Re: Performance Night

Shyael pointedly ignored Alex's question about why she was in Marn and turned her blind gaze in another direction. To be honest, she didn't feel her reasons for being here were any of his business, and it was a rather touchy subject for her, anyway. She wasn't about to disclose personal details of ...

Re: Performance Night

Much as she wanted to just leave, Shyael stayed put and made herself listen as the young man tried, rather clumsily, to provide an excuse for his odd behavior. It wasn't hard to guess that he wasn't being completely forthcoming and seemed to be on the run from someone - not that she cared. She didn ...

Re: Performance Night

As she was led to towards the front door, Shyael found the situation a bit...odd, perhaps was the best word. Over the years she had become so accustomed to finding her own way around and having to be ridiculously careful in everything she did. But now for once she didn't have to pay extra attention ...

Re: Performance Night

Shyael grumbled quietly, perhaps too quietly to be heard over the buzz of the tavern, when he started teasing about her embarrassment. She didn't much appreciate it, but she wasn't going to say anything. And his comment about her trying to avoid detection wasn't completely true - she wasn't exactly ...

Re: Performance Night

Shyael came to a stop when she heard the voice of the fellow who had diffused the argument. Now that she was closer and could hear more easily, she could guess that he was rather young - probably not much older than she was. Beyond that, though, she could only speculate.

Her attention momentarily ...

Re: Performance Night

Shyael was still ready to book it out of the place if need be, but her attention wavered a bit when she heard a voice jump into the argument she hadn’t heard before. She’d been coming here long enough that she recognized the voices of the staff and the regulars, as well as some of the other patrons ...

Re: Performance Night

At some point along the way, as she and the other musicians were taking a short break, Shyael heard what sounded like a bit of an argument stirring up at the far end of the bar. But other than give a quick "look" in that direction, she didn't let on that she had even noticed it. She stayed at her ...

Re: Performance Night

As the music of the first few numbers died away, Shyael heard one of the other musicians leaving his seat and making his way over to her. Lowering her flute a bit, she listened patiently as he made a suggestion. Almost right away she nodded, not really being one to argue such matters, and he ...

Performance Night

The Rat & Gherkin sounded more crowded than usual on this particular night. She was accustomed to the noisy hustle and bustle to an extent, but it always made Shyael feel a little uncomfortable and out of place. The echoes of conversation often left her feeling disoriented.

Even though she had ...
