Re: A Trip to the Country

Sorry guys. :( Between keeping my sanity by going out hiking with my wife and daughter, studying for my final exam on Wednesday of this week, and learning on the job at my new employment, my creative juices have been stifled for the moment. Autoing me is fine. If you give me about a week, I should b...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Aura slipped easily in front of Breda, putting herself between the smaller, pregnant woman and anyone who might come down the stairs. After a few moments in which there was no sound, a voice emanated from the top of the stairs, drifting down to reach them. Well then, trespasser, I reckon we should h...

Re: A Trip to the Country

That actually might be best. The only thing I can think of Aura doing is moving in front of Breda and waiting for whoever comes down the stairs to reveal themselves.

Re: A Trip to the Country

Ok. I've been thinking about this on my own for too long. I'm having trouble coming up with a new post, because I'm completely not interested in playing NPCs at the moment. So I think it might be an idea to have someone who knows the NPCs that would be coming to the cabin (Saruna) or maybe you, Bred...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Aura was already moving when Breda offered to let the young monk go first. She reached to the table, grabbing a small oil lamp, then to the small metal fireplace on the opposite side of the trap door. She used flint and steel to put a small spark into the tinder she had left in the fireplace the las...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Aura stood, pulling the chair off the edge of the carpet and stepping off so Breda could lift the edge. She blinked in surprise at the revealed portion of a trapdoor, complete with a handle. Her following worried frown showed her thoughts about that. For some reason, the discovery of the trapdoor bo...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Aura watched Breda settle into the armchair, watched the smaller woman look over the little cabin, clearly enjoying the sparse yet cozy interior. Aura moved lightly over to one of the dining room chairs, practically dancing with joy. It was a feeling she had rarely had even when she was at home, or ...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Sorry. :( Had a midterm last week, followed by preparations for my wife and daughter taking a trip to Edmonton. Been a busy week/weekend, and I may be able to get a post up tomorrow, or by the latest Thursday. Again, sorry about the unexpectedness, but I honestly haven't been home or, when at home, ...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Nah, you're fine. I'm fairly certain we're still going with the bunker idea. I'll run it by Kat in a bit, and if there are any changes, we'll let you know.

I won't be posting until Thursday, btw. I have a midterm tomorrow night, so I'll be spending most of the next two days studying up.

Re: A Trip to the Country

Aura did most of the heavy lifting, using Breda's hand to help steady herself when needed. Once she was levered up from her back, she bent over, hands on knees, and giggled for another couple of moments. Once she had herself back into a semblance of control, she grinned over at Breda. "I needed a go...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Kat and I talked about how we could become associated with the rebellion. The wagon idea works, but since we're already on the path to the cabin, it would have to be the next day that Aura and Breda made the discovery. However, there was talk of the printing press used by the rebellion being in an u...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Aura grinned at Breda's concern, and shrugged offhandedly. "The extra weight helps keep me fit. Since I haven't met anyone who I can practice my style of fighting with, I need something for that. Practicing the forms can only take me so far." Aura wrapped up what remained of their lunch in the paper...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Aura glanced up at Breda's question. It was past time for lunch, according to the sun, so she nodded and led the shorter woman up the path another few moments. Off to one side was a small clearing, covered by a canopy of leaves, with large logs, obviously cut by saws, laying around a small pit. Aura...

Re: A Trip to the Country

Aura nodded in response to Breda. She didn't particularly want the man around either, but she couldn't leave him to the not-so-tender mercies of the woods, since it was obvious he had gotten himself quite lost at least once already. She smiled reassuringly at Breda and gave her shoulder a squeeze be...

Re: A Trip to the Country

So I've posted. I left it open, and it seems fair that we could take a couple of turns discussing him. There are two suggestions in there, one to send him on his way, which we can auto him out of the thread with if he doesn't come back to the site, and one to get to know him a bit better, before dec...
