Moryldar

the Moryldar family are descendants of first settlers in Marn. They are a politically significant family.

Moryldar is a family whose public reputation is a study of contrasts. While a highly respected family, they are also loathed by their contemporaries for the simple fact that one of their members is an influential judge whose politics tend to favor some over others. Otherwise, they tend to change with the times, leading some of their peers to claim them to be fickle. Whatever the case, they are known to be unforgiving and ruthless -- and, it is whispered that several of the family members, including the judge, are disturbingly sadistic. Those who cross them or the tenets of the city that they uphold pay dearly. There have been a few rumors of important individuals being dragged away in the dead of night at Judge Moryldar's request, as well as some tampering of the city records by staff members in the city hall to help dissidents disappear. They are a power to be reckoned with in city politics.

The Moryldars are a moderately sized family whose members tend to be all over the map politically speaking. So long as none show favoritism or friendliness towards the enemies of the family, members are generally allowed to explore their interests and pursue their goals freely. However, as with their enemies if a member begins to practice politics too far afield of what Judge Moryldar deems appropriate, chances are the person will be dealt with and, if the case is severe enough, cast out.

Their primary enemy is the Vincas family. Their primary ally is the Merynir family, with Morrington as a strong secondary. It's Moryldar who has the most control over the alliances between the three families.
