Malatrast

the Malatrast family are descendants of first settlers in Marn. They are a politically significant family.

Patrons of the arts, the Malatrast family is quite popular among most of their peers and even the general citizenry. Though they are old money, they tend to avoid political games and power, preferring to put their time into the enrichment of Marn's cultural heritage. They are regarded as harmless due to this, and have very few political enemies. Many members serve in the Ministry of Culture, but none in the family have ever held a rank of minister or any politically significant title. However, they do own several buildings dedicated to the arts, such as an art gallery and the city's single Theater.

The Malatrasts are a moderately sized family. While not all of the members choose to be involved with the arts, there have only ever been a few political wildcards. In one rather gossiped over occasion, a young scion was disowned after entering into a political apprenticeship without the head of the family's permission. The Malatrasts take their neutrality seriously, and while they do not generally direct the youngest family members, those who do not fall in line are cast out.

The Malatrast family does not have any conventional allies or enemies.
